Work out buddy in San Gabriel Valley

Hi,
It seems a little weird to ask, but I think if I had a workout buddy it could really jump start my weight loss goal of 40 lbs! If anyone is looking for a workout aprtner in the san gabriel valley, CA area let me know!

  • Where exactly in the San Gabriel Valley?  I live in La Puente.  Let me know.  I have to lose 50lbs

  • I live in Pasadena, but I have a pretty set workout routine already, which really works for me, and not much time for anything else!

I do highly recommend my gym, though! 1.5 years ago, I was in a slump and not exercising at all. I was 15 pounds overweight and starting to freak out with my wedding approaching. I joined my gym, and totally changed my lifestyle. Now I work out there 6 days a week and love it.

I go to Breakthru Fitness in Pasadena (www.breakthrufitness.com) and it's a small, family-owned place that is awesome. Not only do they have amazing, motivating classes and trainers and good equipment, but they also do special weight loss programs that might really be a motivation to you. The owner, Michelle Dozois, is awesome and has done a ton of workout videos.

They call the weight loss program Lose2Win Pasadena and it's kind of based on the Biggest Loser (but of course, not with those extreme weights)- but teams that motivate each other, trainers, wearing a bodybugg to track calories, etc. 40 pounds to lose sounds perfect for it.

They also have other programs- I am doing one now that is for extreme fat loss, but for people with less weight to lose (it's pretty extreme)- everyone has less than 10 pounds to lose, or none and just want to build muscle.

Anyways, I'd check it out if Pasadena is close to you! I know this sounds like a commercial/vendor, but I'm a regular on the board- I just love my gym!  :)
  • 91711-OWENS- I'm in Covina! I have to lose 40-50 pds too. Send me a private message. I'll send you one.

CRNOTA- Thanks for the advice. I like the idea of a small family owned gym. I use to go to Ballys and I could never even break a sweat. I have a year and a half until my wedding and I would like to lose between 40-50 pds. I took note of the gym in Pasadena and I might just give them a call. Thank you!
