hi all. the girls on the attire board suggested i bring this over here.
i'm having my dress custom made by a designer i found via Etsy. i'm very happy with the design and with her, but i'm just nervous about the time. i'm hoping to lose some weight between now and the wedding (already lost some, but want to lose more), so i'll probably need at least one set of alterations. how long do those usually take? how much time should i allot for it?
also, does anyone have a recommendation for a tailor/seamstress? i'm in dallas proper, but i don't mind driving to the 'burbs for a good one.
thanks!
Re: Quick Question and Recommendation - Timing on alterations
My dress only needed a bustle and cups sewn in so I'm not much help, but I'd assume at least a few weeks for alterations.
I'm using Irina's Alterations - my sister has known her for a long time and worked with her for a couple years, so she really got to see all the things she was capable, and she took her dress there as well... She told me mine would be ready in 2 weeks, and it's already ready (about a week after I dropped it off) so I'm picking it up tomorrow. Her shop is inside Elements, a clothing shop on Lovers Lane near the Tollway. I highly recommend her, even though I don't have my dress back - if something changes tomorrow, I'll post, but I doubt it
