Getting in Shape

Monday WW Accountability

Morning all!  That was a HORRIBLE eating weekend for me!  Thank goodness we waited until yesterday to open up the Halloween candy.  Unfortunately, we didn't get nearly as many trick-or-treaters as we expected and we have TONS leftover.  I guess I'll have to take a bunch to work to try and unload it.  Yikes.  Hope you all had much better will-power than I did.  :) Back on track today.

B: ww yogurt (1); fiber one bar (2)
L: probably subway, since I have an all-day in-service at work and will have to catch lunch between speakers (10)
D: ????????????
S: honeycrisp apple (1)

Total: 14
Target: 25

Really need to get to the grocery store- not much left in the house to chose from (unless you count all that Halloween candy)

    B: banana (2), coffee (2)
    L: baked chicken (5), salad w/ dressing (2)
    S: nut bar (3)
    D: baked chicken (5), asparagus (0), potatos (3)

  • Morning!  We got a bunch of trick or treaters but I still have a ton of candy leftover.  I'll be honest, I hid it in the cabinet over the fridge so I can't get to it without standing on a chair and will wait for DH to get home in a week and make him take it to work or something.  I had some candy yesterday, but luckily I got mostly minis (not even fun size) so that a piece here and there wasn't as deadly.

    B: high fiber oatmeal (3)
    L: Homemade baked potato soup-yummy!  (6)
    D: salad (3) and a steak sandwich (8)

    Total: 20
    Target: 21

E: Maybe a Jillian video tonight.

  • Kim - did you get any caramel apple pops? If so, you could mail them to me. We're out EVERYwhere here... I made it through Halloween without eating a single piece of candy because all I wanted was a caramel apple pop. :)

I lost 3.2 lbs at my WI this week! Brings my total to 62.2 lbs lost! Woo hoo! I'm officially out of the 190s! I'm so glad I weighed in Saturday morning, because the rest of the weekend was horrible eating! Back to it then...

B: kashi autumn harvest (2), almond milk (.5), nonfat peppermint mocha (3)
    S: applesauce w/cinnamon & cloves (1), popcorn (1)
L: leftovers of some kind (?)
    S: tbd
D: chicken (3), whole wheat pasta (3), some kind of sauce (2?)

E: probably none today... too much homework

    Total: 15.5
    Target: 25
  • Hey guys! I just joined today and I started back on WW last Monday...I have a little over a year until my wedding and have a LOT to lose. WW was the only thing that ever worked for me. I see you guys put your daily meals on here...what a great idea! I would love to be counted in on the accountability every week if that's ok?

  • Favorite-Woohoo!  Good job on the loss!

Angie-Welcome!  Of course you can join in!

    Graceful-I used this one http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=10000000357537

But I also have this recipe that a friend really likes.

    Loaded Baked Potato Soup
    Ingredients
5 Lg. Potatoes (Baking, Idaho, Russet, etc.), peeled and cubed
    2 cups Chicken Stock
    1 cup Water
    6 Strips Bacon, chopped
    1 Sm. Onion, diced
    3 Stalks Celery, diced
    3 Tbsp. Butter
    3 Tbsp. Flour
    1 cup Milk
    1/2 cup Heavy Cream
    1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
    3 Green Onions, diced
    Directions
In a large pot, add the potatoes, chicken stock and water; bring to a boil and simmer
    for 20 minutes.
In a large pan, cook the bacon over med-high heat until crisp. With a slotted spoon,
remove bacon pieces and let cool on a paper towel covered plate. Meanwhile, add the onion and celery to the pan and cook in the reserved bacon grease until tender.
Once the potatoes have cooked, place a few spoonfuls of potatoes into a separate bowl and begin mashing with a potato masher; set aside.
Meanwhile, combine the milk and heavy cream; set aside. In a small saucepan, melt the
butter over medium heat. Add in the flour and whisk constantly for 2 minutes.
Gradually whisk in the milk/cream mixture and let come to a boil over medium heat until thickened.
Add in the mashed potatoes to the remaining cooked potatoes and carefully stir in the butter/milk mixture. Add in the cheese, bacon, green onions and celery/onion mixture; stir to combine. Let simmer until heated through. Season to taste with pepper. **If it becomes too thick, you can think it out a bit with chicken stock**
Serve warm and top with shredded cheese, bacon, green onion and/or sour cream.
    Yield: 4-6 Servings
