Workout Accountability: Wednesday

FI woke me up so, well, I'm up.  Grr.

Morning ladies and happy 4th!

Today is a double day, which I'm thankful for because there is some really good food at the party we're going to tonight.  So, cardio this morning, and legs, back, and abs this afternoon.
We're also moving day one of week seven to tomorrow, and taking Saturday as a rest day to still get all of our workouts in around our holiday plans.  We'll be walking all over NYC on Saturday (rest day), though, so I might skip the cardio double on Friday.  We're going on a pizza tour while there, though, so I hope some of the places have good salad options!

Food is mostly on track, but I cheated and ate some icing last night (yes, just icing) after a moment of wedding stress.  It was enough to toss my body for a loop and help me on the scale, though - go figure!

How is everyone doing this morning?  Have a wonderful holiday!
Anniversary

  • Morning!

Lobsters, you totally rock and are so inspirational!

Last night I was supposed to do pump, but for some reason my ankle started to hurt mid way through the day and by the time I got home it was super sore so I took the night off. It still hurts a bit today but I already planned to take today off to meet with our potential DJ so fingers crossed I'm back at the gym Thursday.

  • Did fairly well yesterday with eating, well measured and controlled, although we did have a large dinner with my parents.  Honey garlic ribs and rice, 2 scoops of rice, about 2 cups, yes it was definitely an overindulgence.  But it was good.  lol.  We went for a 30 minute walk afterwards to counteract the guilt, haha.

Today our usual 50 minute walk during our lunchbreak, tonight is interval training on the treadmill (45 mins) and some strength training, arms and abs.

I am here at work trying to drink some water to fight off the boredom munchies before break when I have some bluberries, yogurt and granola.

  • Had no internet the last few days, but got in a ton of exercise with moving. Today is our last haul, then it's the light stuff of unpacking.  I feel like I've lost a little size-wise (it's been so hot I don't think I've been eating enough actually), haven't got the Wii hooked up yet to check my weight yet and can't find the measuring tape at this point ;)  I plan to eat as healthy as possible at the BBQ this afternoon ;)

  • I swam a mile last night. It was really great :D.

This morning I got up early to run. I put in 11-12 miles before the heat came in.

Right now I've got chicken in the crock pot to be shredded later. I'm about to make some very bad for you slutty brownies as well. I am not going to lie I run on holidays so I can eat more. Heck I run in general so I can eat more, I just make sure to really make it count on the days where I know the eatings will be good. Burn the calories before you eat them!

  • Today is a rest day for me. I am sore from my PT session yesterday and have another one tomorrow morning so I feel good about taking today off. May try to get a walk in the FI tonight after dinner.

  • Good morning! The gym is closed today so I got to sleep in a little til the kiddo got up. I did a 2 mile run and it was already so hot outside. Maybe I'll do another this evening if it cools down. No plans for the fourth, so eating should be on track today.
  • I was going to be really cheesy and bump my 3.5 mile run up to 4 miles for the 4th... but even before 11 AM, it was so hot. Ran for 15 minutes and then walked for another 20.

  • Happy 4th of July to all of you Americans! Here in Canada there are [both fortunately and unfortunately - want the food but not the calories] no BBQs going on today.

I'm going to walk the dog, but that's about all of the exercise I think I'll be doing today. I would love to go for a run outside also, but the weather is atrocious. We're having about 90km/hour winds (there's actually a "wind alert" on right now) and it makes being outside quite miserable. There was a tornado last evening about 40 minutes from here, so the wind is definitely real, lol!

I need to up the calories a little bit today - for some reason I just haven't been hungry the last few days - it's been getting to the end of the day and I'm only netting around 1200-1300 calories, which for me doesn't mean weight loss. A day or two here or there is fine, but I need to be getting 1450-1600 to really make a move on the scale. so that's today's goal!

Yeah this is why I was out the door by 6:45 this morning. I watch the hourly forecasts and go based on that this time of year. Last weekend I was on the trail at 6am to cover my brick workout. This weekend I have a 3 hour brick slated I will probably start at 6am at the latest again. I cant hold back the half ironman so I train litterally in the dark sometimes. I have done workouts at 4:30 am before. You can always nap after your run, but you cant turn the sun down in the summer :).

  • I got up this morning, left my sleeping FI in bed, and went to the gym.  I changed up my workout this week.  I felt like I wasn't doing enough, so I added another day of cardio at the gym (Su, M, W, F) and switched from doing MWF total body strength, to dividing it up into upper, lower, and core.  Two days each week of each body section.  Yesterday was core, and my abs were sore when I went to bed.  Today I did upper body, and could barely lift my arms when I first got home.  I'm better now, but I obviously worked to pretty much my limit today.  I also did my usual 35 minutes on the elliptical.
I need to up my water intake and hopefully flush out the water weight that I gain after eating poorly on the last few days.  Between stress and parties, I'm up about 3 pounds right now.  Hopefully they'll be gone after a few days of drinking more water.

  • Happy 4th of July!

After getting an adorable haircut last night...I went to The Melting Pot with my mom and her friends. OMG, I had never been there before...what a food overload! And of course I am the only healthy eater in the bunch...they ordered everything. Luckily I just ordered a salad and a glass of red wine for myself (hardly ever drink anymore cuz of calories so I really enjoyed that glass!!) and nibbled on what everyone else had ordered...including cheese and then chocolate fondue for dessert! But it was delicious and I didn't feel -that- guilty afterwards.

Got my butt up early and went to Zumba which was fun...haven't really eaten too much today...probably still full from last night! Lol.

    Enjoy the holiday!

    <div>True! </div><div>
</div><div>I did check the hourly forecast and technically the temp was the same as it has been for my early-evening runs while the sun was still up these past few days - so I thought maybe it would be doable - but I was quite wrong. :)</div><div>
</div><div>I'm on a bit of a nocturnal-leaning schedule ATM anyway so in the future I'll probably stick to evening runs!</div>

  • Sarah - The nice thing about the evenings is the sun is lower in the sky, and the humidity maybe lower. This probably helps a lot. I find the sun beating down with high humidity is not good for me at all.
