Hey ladies! I am leaving on Wednesday to go to Disney World!! This will be my first trip so I did'nt know if any of you ladies have been there and can give me good tips? Like what rides to ride, what NOT to forget to pack, etc.

Any tips would be really appreciated :)

Oooh, what fun!  I took my daughter in 2004 so it has probably changed alot since then.  I would say make sure you pack sunscreen, comfy shoes and socks and be prepared to walk, walk, walk.   And then walk some more.  All the books say pack band aids and blister stuff but just make sure you wear good comfy shoes.

There is a book called the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World - pick it up!  We get a new one everytime we go and it's super helpful.  :)   Have fun!  I'm jealous.  :)

Don't forget to pack the sunscreen! Chris and I went for our first time last April, and he packed, but didn't put on the sunscreen the first day... let's just say we were spending a high price to buy Aloe the next day.

Our favorite rides were Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror & the Aerosmith ride (Hollywood Studios), Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain & Haunted House (Magic Kingdom), Expedition Everest & the Safari in Animal Kingdom and Soarin', Test Track and Spaceship Earth in Epcot.

Really the whole time was amazing, you're going to have so much fun!!

Oh! And definitely don't forget to wear comfortable shoes like Stephie said.  I don't think I've done so much walking in a 3 day period ever. My feet were killing me at the end of each day.

I agree the Unofficial Guide is so helpful.  Back when I went, there was also a thing called a Passporter but I don't think they make that one any more.

When you go to Epcot, be sure to get one of the world passports.  You go to each country in the World Showcase and get the passport stamped.  It is so much fun.  And, even if you hate the song, you have to go see "it's a small world".  It's classic Disney and one of the few very original rides left.  I am so disappointed that they added Capt. Jack Sparrow to Pirates of the Carribean that it nearly ruined the ride for me.  Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is great too.  We're going in July and I am so excited!!!!!

OH! One more thing, be sure to utilize the fast pass options!

For example we were at the Hollywood Studios park when it opened, and thanks to reading the Disney book, we went directly to get the fast pass for the Toy Story ride then went and rode some other rides.  When it was time for us to ride Toy Story I couldn't even tell you how long the wait was, and it was only about 2 hours after the park opened. We used the fast pass alot, I think our only long wait was for Soarin' which was over an hour, but it was inside so that wasn't too bad.

Bring a water bottle (or buy bottled water and keep refilling it).  I don't know how bad the weather is at this time, but I went a few years ago in early June.  It was so hot and humid and I got dehydrated worse than I've ever been, and it was not a happy afternoon.

If you have an iPhone, there's a free app you can download with approximate wait times for lines.  I don't know how accurate it is, but it sounds like a cool idea.

Eat at Ohana if you get a chance... book your dinner for about 8:30 and you can request a table by the window and see the fireworks from there... much better than fighting the crowds!

If you are staying at the disney resorts, take advatage of the magic hours and the fastpass system... its the only way we got to ride Toy Story Mania (which is a blast!)

I acutally found my flip flops were more comfortable because my feet got too wet on certain rides and it was horrible

Bring a small backpack to carry your gear, camera, sunscreen, water bottle, and small snacks. We always took in 100calorie packs and it was great to eat a snack on the go or in line while we were waiting...
