Need help passing my plateau.

Weight loss/fitness goals: 15 more pounds

Favorite cake flavor: Carrot

If you lurk, how long have you: Since June.. Posted a few times

Anything interesting about yourself: I like my yoga hot!

Any question you might have:
I seem to have hit a plateau! In order for me to get to my goal (which is a normal BMI) I need to lose 15 more pounds. I have lost 15 pounds since I started seriously working out in March but I've been stuck at my current weight for over a month now. I do hot yoga twice a week and kickboxing once a week. I use a calorie counting app to watch what I eat and keep me from going over calorie-wise. Any one had this happen to them? What did you do differently? Do I need to do more exercise, eat better or both? TIA.

  • Welcome!

You say to watch from going over - but how far under do you stay in doing so?

I have been stuck on many plateaus, I usually try to switch my workouts up and change my calorie breakdown (percent of cals that are carbs or fats or proteins.)

  • I agree, with you need to keep switching things up every 30 days to keep your muscles in "confusion mode" Our bodies adapt very quickly to things we are doing so you have to continuously change them. You said that you do kickboxing, you could do weighted hand gloves, or just up the intensity. Or try a new program, if you like kickboxing you might like Turbo Jam or Turbo Fire which is cardio kickboxing from Beachbody.

It really depends, on days where I exercise and add it I have been under by like 700 calories before. The most I've ever been over is 200.
