NWR: Pirate Costume?

Hey Girls,
In about a month my friends and I are having our annual pirate day. I need some ides on how to make a cute and sexy (but definately not slutty) pirate costume. I only want to buy a costume from a costume shop as a last resort as they are generally expensive. Any ideas? Any old garments you could donate or temporarily lend that are piratey? Thanks!!

Our library had a Halloween open house for all the kids who take music lessons at Vanderbilt, and one of our student employees came in a great homemade pirate costume. There are pictures here if you scroll down a little:

She wore jeans with pointy toe boots over, and a vintage lingerie top with a camisole underneath. She also had scarves around her hips and head, and had hoop earrings. She looked really cute! HTH

I have one that is sort of piratey.  It's a white dress thing with an overlay and I think I still have the headscarf too but not sure.  The dress is long though, not short.  My women's ministry at church did some pirate themed progressive dinner a few years ago.  I guess you could say it's more medieval than pirate.

I don't have a creative bone in my body so I know nothing about making one..... but I know you can rent costumes pretty affordably.   There is a costume rental shop in Southlake called Odyssey Theatrical that rented me a costume a few years ago for a very reasonable price.
