Stomach Spasms

For the past 3 months I have been getting these in the upper right side of my stomach. Every time I do stomach exercises (any type) the next day they are there. They are kinda like charlie horses but much more painful. I stretch before workouts but I just dont get it. Anyone else? do you know what this is? Ive made an appt with the Dr for the 28.

  • Are you eating before you workout? It sounds like your diaphram is spasaming. Perhaps you are not breathing efficiently enough for your workout.

  • Its usually 2-3 hrs after Ive eated before I work out so that may not be it. And as far as breathing I believe im breathing correctly, I just cant figure it out.

  • I don't know what it is, but I wanted to add that stretching before workouts is not the best choice.  Stretching is best done when muscles are warm, so should be done either after a warmup, or just after your workout.

  • If its right under your ribs on the right side, get the Dr. to check your gallbladder. I was having the same pains and ended up finding out my gallbladder was functioning 35% and had to have it removed. Dont worry about working out after that, you will drop about 10 pounds after surgery!
