Arms!!!

What are your fave arm toning moves? I am looking to add something to my mix.

  • Push-ups!  Hardcore style tricep pushups (elbows close to body as you go down) - 2 sets of 10 of those a day will make your arms and shoulders look AMAZING!  And you can always drop to your knees to finish them if you can't do them all in plank position.  And they are really good for your core too!Smile

  • Some of my favorites:
    Push ups
    Bicep curls
    Tricep pull-downs
    Bench press

    Lots of weight, too!
  • I like lying down tricep extensions, push-ups, and overhead presses.  
  • I switch my workouts for each body part each week, so I am not doing the same exercise each week, but my favorites are:

    Shoulders: Smith-Overhead Press & Side Lateral Raises using dumbbells, Reverse Fly

    Biceps: Preacher curl, Incline Independent curl, Independent Hammer Curls, Hammer curls on Pulley Machine

    Triceps: Push-ups--(use two dumbells on the ground, parallel to your body.  Instead of putting your hands on the ground, wrap your hands around the dumbells---those are the best for triceps), Tricep Kickbacks, Skull Crusher, Bench Dips with Weighted Plate on legs, Overhead Tricep Extension using rope on pulley machine

  • I have a hard time pushing myself with weights (out of fear in my weakness I'm hit myself in the head) so I love resistance bands! I took a class at my gym that does all sorts of things with them. step on them and pull up, stretch them between your hands while doing lunges, etc.

  • Get a yoga tape! My arms burn after yoga; plus you're getting a full body work out!
