Workout Accountability : Monday

Good Morning!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

We started week two of p90x on Saturday and so far, so good.  I really can't wait to see results, which I know will take a few weeks, but I'm already getting anxious.  Saturday was chest, back and abs, yesterday was plyo (which went much better this time around) and today is shoulders, arms, and abs.

Aside from a big cup of ice cream at the baseball game on Saturday, eating also has gotten much better over the week and weekend.  I even made FI some chocolate chip cookies and kept myself to having just one each night, which is a major win for, well, anyone in our family.

How are you ladies doing?

Re: Workout Accountability : Monday

  • Morning!

I took the weekend off working out at the gym-I had a brutal week at work (worked late everyday) and still worked out 4 times at the gym so when friday came around all I wanted to do was sleep. I still did some stuff and kept my food reasonable...(except for the swiss chalet chicken on saturday) did lots of walking and drank a lot of water.

crazy story: I live in Toronto and at the Eaton's centre ( a HUGE mall downtown) this weekend someone went into the cafeteria area and opened fire and started shooting people, 1 person has died and 7 are wounded in hospital.
FI and I were at the mall and were planning on going down to the cafeteria to eat our packed snack but decided that  what we brought was not enough as we were both really hungry (I have very few places I can eat due to to allergies) so we decided to leave and go to Swiss Chalet down the street.....not even an hour later was when the gunman was in the cafeteria.

How crazy is that? it makes you think of the "what if's"  also thank the flying spaghetti monster that we were craving swiss chalet!

  • I'm doing good.

I ran 3.5 miles saturday, and got my bike back up and running.

Sunday I took kidlet to ren fest and we walked a lot. I also hula hooped with her a while, and we shot some archery.

Today I'm hoping to have the energy to climb on the bike trainer after kidlet hits the hay. I will also do some pilates.

  • Morning ladies!  Souptin that is CRAZY!  Oh my goodness.  You have a lot to be thankful for!

I kicked butt with exercise this weekend, and did mediocre on diet.  These weekends full of graduation parties must end!

Saturday we lifted triceps & took spin, Sunday we lifted legs & took spin (we don't normally spin both weekend days, but our instructor was subbing a class so we decided to take it).  This morning we lifted shoulders & chest and did 30 minutes on the elliptical.  I'm going to take hip hop class tonight too.  Such a fun class!

I guess my small eating victories are NOT having cake at the party, only having one plate of food with as much of it covered with fruit/veggies as possible, and not having any bread/rolls or party snacks on the tables.  My main downfall, as usual, was beer.

This week's goals is to get some 2-a-day workouts in.  I have 29 days today till the wedding, so I'm officially in the crunch zone!!

    Morning Ladies,

After being on vacation last week I was pretty busy with doing things around the house and some little wedding things so I did not get a workout in over the weekend. Plus since I was sore from my first C25K workout I thought it would be best to give my body a rest. My eating was not bad so that's a plus.

Hitting the gym tonight and doing my second C25K workout, really hoping to stick with it! Maybe get some abs in there too.

Souptin that is crazy, it really does make you think "what if", glad to hear you are ok.
  • Souptin - How fortunate your situation put you else where! Do they know why the gunman opened fire on everyone?

I had a great weekend. Friday I got 60 minutes of light cardio on my bike. Saturday I went to the gym and got 20 minutes on the stairmaster, 30 minutes on the elliptical and 25 minutes of weightlifting. Yesterday I did 90 minutes of light cardio on my bike and went to play disk golf with my FI and a friend for an hour.

The walking challenge at work is ramping up - out team is already doing WAY above what the challenge is telling us to do, so we're re-setting our own goals. It's great to have people at work also motivating me to push myself.

  • Totally fell off the wagon this weekend! I had my brother's wedding rehersal Friday and wedding on Saturday and then we helped my best friend move on Sunday. So I hate like total crap all weekend. Also I had to go to urgent care on Thursday - I have an infection in my cuticle from a shiitty pedicure I got last weekend! I am so upset. I could barely walk on Friday so I haven't been able to work out. I am on antibiotics and it is starting to feel better, so hopefully I can get back to the gym tomorrow.

  • Hi Everyone! I'm back! I had an amazing wedding a honeymoon and now need to get back into the swing of things!

I started logging in MFP again today and will hopefully go for a walk this afternoon. I have so much stuff to catch up on- work, school work, thank you notes, cleaning etc- and am exhausted from growing this little human that it will be really easy to make an excuse not to be active. So, that is my goal- don't make excuses and at least move for 30 min a day until I can get myself caught up and move up from there!
  • Souptin - that is very scary, and I'm glad that you are safe!

Eating was WAY off track this weekend. We were up at FI's family beach house, and while FMIL is also "trying to lose weight" her meals would not have you believe it. Burgers, store bought potato salad, apple pie. Whats for lunch the next day? Left overs! And when I only eat a reasonable portion, I get the "well you're sure not eating much!" I hate that. I end up just saying "well, eating too much bad food is the main cause of being obese, therefore it makes sense to not eat as much bad food." I just don't understand the encouraging others to eat much more food than is necessary. It doesn't make sense!

Anyway, I'm going to bring everything back into check this week. I just feel so much happier when I'm eating food that I know is fueling my body in the right ways.

I'm going to go for a run today, and then FI and I are going to play 9 holes when he gets off of work tonight :)

  • SoupTin - That's crazy!!!   I'm glad you're okay!

I've been doing the adkins thing and I stayed good on it all weekend (minus a couple of drinks but I still lost 2 pounds last week).

The FI put me on his gym membership so I was able to use that this weekend.  Did kettlebell training by myself for the first time... I'm soreeeee.

  • I knew this weekend was going to be a challenge with family visiting and lots of eating out.   I did manage to resist the sweets all weekend and made relatively healthy food choices.  I think though I had more sodium than usual as I feel rather bloated now.   I lost another 1/2 pound this week which I count as a big success.   Next week is the big challenge as I am travelling to London.

FI & I went for a bike ride on Saturday.  What I couldn't figure out was that we biked about 8 miles in an hour.  We were going slow and stopped a few times.  At the end of the ride my GPS said I burned about 500 calories.   When I bike to and from work it is a total of 12 miles in 1 hour and I burn 600 calories doing that.   I would have thought biking further faster would burn more calories.  What am I missing?

  • HI Ladies!  Can I join in the daily post here?  My name is Trudy and I am getting married in December 2012 in Key West, Florida!  I have mostly posted on the destination board and just came across this board!

Working out is one of my favorite activities and I like to try all different types of workouts!  Lately I have been doing spinning 2x a week, working out with my trainer one day a week, running one day, Body Pump one day and then either a bootcamp or another spin class on Saturdays.   I also really enjoy cycling but have not had the time lately to get out for long rides!

This thread seems like a great place to help me stay accountable with my workouts and eating!

  • Hi I am also new to this board and hoping it will help keep me more motivated to stay on track.

My wedding is over a year away but I am a bridesmaid this fall so that is my first goal of losing the weight and then from there until my wedding keeping it off and living healthier. I want to lose 25 lbs by November 3.

I started doing the Insanity workout last week and today is the start of week 2!! I cannot wait to see results since these workouts kick my ass.

  • I walked around the zoo all day with fourteen first graders on a field trip, so I'm counting that as my big exercise of the day, haha.  I might do some crunches later, but I'm beat.

Today's my last full day of a GF diet and I see no difference.  I still get my "gas baby" and whatnot.  It's not gluten.  :\
