  • Welcome!

Read the sticky at the top of the page for some more suggestions.  I lost 20 lbs using MyPlate on Livestrong.

-eat as healthy as possible.  veggies, fruits, lean meats, complex carbs (whole grain, wheat etc.)
-Incorporate strength training and cardio as much as you can (4-5 times a week)

[QUOTE]start by tracking calories. I use livestrongs myplate. TRACK EVERYTHING you put into your mouth... Also, when i first started losing weight I stated by adding a Leslie Sansone video to my day and trying to add extra steps any way possible! I lost 60, gained 10 back and I'm working on losing 15 right now! (3/15 down!) ha ha. But start there!

    I do this too!  I use mydailyplate.com

I also do Leslie Sansone's Power Walk 2 mile.. it's 40 minutes including the cool down and warm up.. (It's also on demand, but I have the dvd as well)

It's a great way to get some basic cardio in when your not ready to get to the more complex stuff like squats and lunges which can hurt at first if your muscles aren't used to it.. sometimes I feel its better to start out with basic cardio to get your heart rate up and your endurance level.. and then gradually introduce the other stuff like Jillian Michael's dvd's which will have all the squats, lunges, burpees, ab work arm work, etc etc.  Those 180 squat jumps are hard too!

Therefore starting out with some kickboxing or power walk or jogging or walking outside etc are all great forms of cardio for just starting out.
