The following questions are regularly asked. Please read these first before posting:

I'm new and want to introduce myself. If you don't see a post started from another newbie already, start your own and title it "(Day of Week) NEW MEMBERS".

What diet will help me lose weight quickly? None. Sustained weight loss will require that you change your lifestyle and combine healthy eating with exercise. It is said that weight loss can be up to 80% diet and 20% exercise. If you stick within your daily calories and exercise programs, you should have great success.  Healthy, sustainable weightloss happens at a rate of 1-2 lbs per week, or around 1% of your weight.

How can I track my daily food intake?  Free sites like MyPlate, SparkPeople, MyFitnessPal and other are great, as well as paid programs like Weight Watchers.

What are some great exercise videos that help with  toning? The 30 Day Shred Banish Fat Boost MetabolismP90X

What is C25K? C25K stands for the Couch to 5K program. You can use Google to find out more information and to set yourself up with this program.

How many pounds can I lose in X number of days? There is no set number on how many pounds any particular person will lose in a set time period. Your weight loss depends on healthy eating, calorie consumption, and exercise. Most studies say that up to 2 lbs a week is a healthy amount. Crash diets are not recommended or supported by this board.

• How many calories should I eat a day? This all depends on your height, weight, age, sex, etc. Use Google by finding a "daily caloric needs" calculator.

Beginner's Tips - Measure yourself the first day of your journey, and then once a month after that. It is great to see how many inches you are losing, even if your weight loss is stalled temporarily. Weigh yourself once per week. Choose a day of the week that you would prefer and weigh yourself only on that day at the same time, i.e., the morning before breakfast. Join in on the Daily Accountability posts.   • Thanks for posting!  I have completed rounds of Slim in 6, P90X, Insanity & drank Shakeology to lose almost 20 lbs & am 4 lbs away from my goal weight for my wedding in 2 weeks.  I'm so excited!

  • I have the Slim in 6 program- It's a series of DVDs with an diet guide.  Basic idea is to follow her workout DVDs which start off easy and gradually get harder and stick to her eating outlines, which is based around the 5-small-meals-a-day idea. I personally haven't been able yet to discipline myself to stick to it for more than a week at a time, but that's my own fault-the program really is easy and healthy, even if the DVDs are boring. I recommend muting her and putting some music on Laughing
  • Hi their , so were can I find the slim in 6 program. I can't seem to find a diet to help me loEmbarassedse the punds I want. I have 8 months for my wedding. I start a diet and then lose control of it.

  • Thanks for the info!! I'm familiar with calorie tracking websites and how many calories I should eat to lose. I lost 50 lbs about 3 yrs ago and no I've seemed to gain it all back. I'm really looking to lose 50-75 lbs. I will be leaning on you ladies for support!!!

  • I'm doing the Joy Bauer diet, which is really strict at first.  Pretty much a life-changer kind of diet, because you're expected to do it forever.  It starts with 30 minutes of exercise a day, then eventually you move to an hour.  Any arobic exercise will do, along with some minimal strength training.
