Id like to keep in touch with some other brides who are doing WW, learn there tips and trick, recipes, share their weight loss goals and milestones.

Im doing WW online so dont get to go to meetings :(

Re: weight watchers brides

  • Hello!! I am also doing WW online. I've been doing it for about a year and a half (part of that time I was off the wagon and gained some back) but so far I've lost 29.5 pounds!!!! I pair WW with running and I love it. Tips I find helpful - drink lots of water!!!!!! Track track track!!!! I also set mini goals alongside my overall goals. Right now my overall goal is 155 and my Current mini goal is 175 (2.5 pounds away!!!!).

Well, I would say stop tasting and trying but that is hard!  If it is while you are cooking I suggest chewing gum while you cook.  I also have this problem because I bake cakes so I try a little bit of everything to make sure it turned out properly.  I do 'creative tracking' - so i tried a bite of cake, with the filling and the frosting.  So if one slice of cake is 8 points and a slice is 8 bites.  That taste was just one point.

  • i'm 8lbs down on weight watchers. i'm loving it!
  • I tried weight watchers online for awhile but it really didn't do it for me :(  Oddly enough, I lost the 10 lbs I'd been trying to lose forever when I finally stopped actively trying to lose weight after years of dieting . . . I found that counting calories or points just made me think about food all the time and that made things worse.

Now, I've made lifestyle changes but I don't count calories . . . I listen to my body and eat when I'm hungry.  I try to minimize processed food, include fruits or veggies at every meal, and generally avoid white bread and sugary things.  Everything else for me is fair game -- even high-calorie things like cheese and nuts and peanut butter.  If I find myself craving sweets, I let myself have a little dark chocolate or a fruit popsicle (things I find hard to overindulge on . . . dark chocolate is delicious but it's not like candy, it's hard for me to eat a whole load of it at once).

Sometimes I really want a slice of cake or something like that, and I do eat things like that occasionally, but I almost always immediately regret it -- heavy, sugary foods just make me feel sick and sleepy.  It's easier for me to say to myself "Don't eat that cake or you will feel sick" than "Don't eat that cake or you will get fat" -- I just could never help myself when I approached things with that attitude.

I also try to excercise every day.  And by exercise I mean "do something."  If I don't feel like running, that's fine, but I'll try to take the dog for a long walk or something.  Anything just to get up and moving.  It doesn't happen every day, but trying to make it a daily routine I usually end up doing something about 5 days a week or so.

Anyway -- I know this approach won't work for everyone, but I just got so frustrated with weight watchers and calorie counting and all of that and felt so crummy about myself for so long . . . well, I wonder if I'd taken a different approach sooner if I wouldn't have felt healthier and better about myself years ago :)
  • I just joined WW for the third time this week.

I have had a lot of success with WW in the past, however I have gained it all back. Hopefully if I slowly & steadily lose the weight over the next year, it will stay off easier this time (rather than fast, unhealthy weight loss).

  • I love WW. It only works for me when I follow it to the letter. I lost 50lbs in 8 months over 2 years ago strictly following the plan. Then I met my fiance (who struggles to keep weight ON) so I fell very far off that wagon and it drove away without me. Since we got engaged, I have lost almost 40lbs more or less following the plan. It is slower going this time, but it is fitting into my life better. I loved the meetings the first time around, since I had an awesome, hilarious, and supportive group. Where we live now, the location isn't convenient, and the group isn't worth it, so I don't go. I tell myself that when I get close to my goal, I will go back, but we shall see.

  • I joined online at the beginning of July.  I am down 5 lbs.  I would like to be down another 7 by October when I go to try on dresses.  If I do not track I always gain.  I find tracking and visiting the message boards keeps me in check.

I joined WW in January of 2011.  From Jan-Nov I lost 26 lbs which put me 8lbs away from my goal weight.  That's when I started to stop tracking all the time and all around not following the plan.  I gained about 3-4lbs back but have pretty much stayed there.  I really want to lose the last 12lbs before the new year and have been struggling to do so, but after reading this post I am more motivated to do so.

I got engaged back in June and I really want reach my goal weight before going and trying on wedding dresses (I'm not getting married until 2014, so I should be good there).  I find that the only thing that keeps me going and on the plan is going to meetings.  If that isn't an option, which you said it isn't, then definitely keep checking the WW boards.  Maybe you can find an online WW friend nearby who can keep you motivated?  Also, I've found that if the people in my life aren't being super supportive, it's really hard to stay on the plan and keep track of my points.  So definitely make sure that everyone around you understands how important losing this weight is to you and hopefully your family or coworkers will stop bringing how those foods that you lose your self-control over.
