4.5 months to tone up!

I've always been athletic and I dropped 40 very sneaky lbs lst year, but with graduation this past fall I've put on a couple lbs.  Oh the pains of being a lit major and having to sit in a room and read so much...luckily I only have about 8 lbs to lose.  Nick and I began working out today.  My goal is 4 lb a month for 3 months (just for wiggle room) and toming up for the next 4.5 months. I think this is very very doable, if I could quit baking. agh! It's hard when you make apple pies and cheesecakes to relax...guess I'm gonna have to show some restraint...WISH ME LUCK!

  • 12 lbs in 3 months is very reasonable!  Keep in mind that in order to "tone up" you'll need to lose fat and gain muscle.  So weight lifting is excellent, along with a balanced, reasonable eating plan.  You may not lose quite as many pounds as you're hoping with heavy weight training, but the inches should come off!

  • Agreed--focus on inches rather than pounds, if  you're lifting weights.  But it sounds like you have a very attainable and healthy goal--good luck!
