The eat clean diet???

Hi,

I remember reading one of the messages here that someone was following the eat clean diet- I was reading some reviews on the books/series and one of the big complaints is the complicated recipies and exotic ingredients.

I am trying to eat healthier and incorporate fresh food over processed but would be interested in more recipe options with fresh ingredients but I am new to cooking so I'm not great with finding what will taste good and go well together nor complicated recipes/ingredients.

Anyone have the same problems with this series or following something similar but that is more for the beginner level cook on a non-lavish income (exotic ingredients usually mean high prices).

Thanks!!

Re: The eat clean diet???

  • Some of the recipes do call for some less normal things, but honestly, most of them are pretty straightforward, and once you stock up on some clean pantry staples, you can make a lot. (things like whole wheat flour, egg whites, flax seed and natural nut butters are really all I've had to buy).

I've got the Eat Clean Diet Recharged and the Eat Clean Diet Cookbook and have made a few things from that.  I've also got the Clean Eating Quick & Easy Meals book/magazine (which I can never find a link for) and it's really awesome.  The Cashew Butter Chicken Stew in that book thing is to die for.  I've also made a few things out of the Clean Eating magazine and from some blogs I follow. (This one has a lot of good ideas)

Even if you're not following the diet really strictly (which is, honestly, kinda hard to do) just making some changes to the way you eat helps.

I'd say pick up a copy of the Clean Eating magazine and browse through that.  There are always many great looking recipes in them, and troll around a few clean eating blogs.  Clean Eating doesn't have to be hard!
