Stuck... Any Ideas?

So I'm stuck at a weight plateau. I was 136. Then I started replacing meals with slimfast M-F, drink only on F&Sat, run between 3 & 4 miles on Tues & Thurs, strength train with toning & cardio M&F. I eat very light dinners and light lunches on the weekends. I've been doing this since March and only lost 18 lbs. I haven't lost any weight this month. I'd like to lose 3 - 8 more pounds before October. Any ideas?

    I'm going to be the first of many I presume to jump on the 'your not eating enough calories' bandwagon.  But I really think that's exactly what's going on.

    I agree with Lobsters.     You probably aren't consuming enough for what you are burning.  

    Also 18 pounds since March is a fairly good weight loss.   Healthy weight loss is about 1-2 pounds a week.  You are definitely in that range.

    Thanks everyone! I'm 5'0". I've never heard of this "not eating enough calories" thing. Can some one explain how that works. I always thought you should eat less than you burn. One Slimfast is like 180 cal plus a mini v8 (30 cal) plus 90 cal brownie and dinner is like 500 I guess? I only drink water. So typically I'm eating between 980 - 1000 cal a day.

    You're definitely not eating enough especially if you're exercising.  You need to eat back the calories you burn so your total daily consumption is at about 1200 calories.

    If you eat less than 1200 calories a day  your body is not getting enough nutrition and will hand onto anything that it possibly can.   

    If you're only eating about 1000 calories a day and burning 300 calories a day you are only taking in a net of 700 calories this is definitely not enough.

    You're body is completely in starvation mode!  

    I recommend a site like MyFitnessPal, which will help you track your calorie intake.  Make sure that when you up your intake, you do it with healthy foods, and not just empty calories to get to the 'right number.'  It isn't going to be easy to do, all of us can attest to that, because it's hard to wrap your mind around the idea that more calories will eventually help you weigh less.  You may suffer an inital bloat or small weight gain bc your body is so happy to finally have enough food, but I guarantee you it will be back off once your body has adjusted to it's new routine.

    Also at 5'0 118 is a perfectly healthy weight.

    i'll just say quit drinking. I lost 10 lbs in 1 week when i quit drinking and I only drank on fri and sat. good luck :)
