I am starting it tomorrow! I pathetically only completed 2 push ups in the initial test. Wow, talk about weakness! Those of you who have done it, how did you do and are your arms super toned??
I'm not doing the challenge but I have ridiculously weak arms as well (actually I think part of the issue is my core body strength, not just my arms) so I am doing loser push-ups with my knees on the ground until I get enough strength to do regular push-ups.
probablykate- don't beat yourself up about doing modified push ups- they still work!
something that helps me get stronger so that i can do standard push-ups instead of modified are negatives.
You place yourself in plank like you're going to do a push-up and you slowly bring yourself lower until you're against the floor, the idea is to hold it right above the ground for as long as you can, sort of like a chataranga in yoga of course it takes a long long time to get to that point, but just do your best. Sometimes I just get so tired and fall to the ground when I don't have anything left in me! It's tough, but I do this about 3 times a week and it definitely adds an extra push to my workout and I've definitely seen improvement!
For those of you doing modified push ups you will never graduate to your toes unless you try: try doing as many normal push ups (on your toes) as you can-even if it is a half a push up and then dropping to your knees and continuing until you can't anymore. I spent years wondering why I never got better at push ups until I learned and now I knock out 20-30 on my toes with no problem.

I'm doing it right now & I like it! I have been doing it for 4 weeks or so and I can tell a difference. I'm not sure its the kind of thing other people would notice, but I totally have some muscle in my arm! I made fiance feel it and he agreed that there was absolutley muscle there - and actually seemed a little impressed.
I agree, don't do the modified ones. The real ones work you out better and also give you a better ab workout. I could only do 4 regular ones when I started, now I can do 36.
I just started this program a few days ago after reading your post! I can already feel a difference in my abs, and definitely my arms as well! I could only do 8 on my initial test, so I'm going to be super proud when I get to 100!

Thanks this sounds like a great suggestion!

Good luck!
