Honeymoons

We are pretty much planning our wedding out now so that way we can get everything in stone then have ample time to make payments and pay for things. So , we've already started talking about honeymoons...and we've decided beach....and white sand and clear blue waters. He suggested Florida Keys so we could stay in the US and we wouldn't have to get a passport. (save a few more bucks that could be spent on other things). So I've been searching for all inclusive honeymoon packages for the Keys and I can't really find anything. I know I would love to go to the Carribean. There and Mexico I know there's packages for honeymoons (hotel suites, maybe spa credit, dinners, credits for activities, etc) but that means we would have to get a passport (which I don't mind). I'm trying to convince him, but if we stick to the Keys (don't mind that either), I would want an all inclusive package. Does anyone know of where I can go to search for all inclusive packages for the Keys???

Thank you :)

I really don't know if you can get all inclusive packages anywhere in the US (including Hawaii) but I could be mistaken. It may end up being cheaper (even with the passport, which is a good idea to always have anyway) if you go to Mexico! Sorry I can't be more help :(
Disclaimer: Please excuse the above comment. I'm probably freaking out because there is less than one month to go. Thank you.

This. You most likely will not find an all inclusive in the US. However, you can find some great deals on them for Mexico and Jamaica.

Yes, I will agree with pp's. I don't think you can get all inclusive in the U.S.

May I ask why you're against getting a passport? Do you not plan to do any international travel for the next 10 years or so? Because I think it'll be a $150 well spent, and you have a year so you have PLENTY of time. FI already had his, but I got mine about 2 months ago and it arrived in about 3 weeks!

EDIT: I just noticed you said you wanted to save money and not get the passports. I would advise getting them. I don't think it's something you'll look back on and think "Dang, what a waste of money that was!"

PP's are correct that there are no true all inclusives in the US, including the US Virgin Islands, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.  Sometimes you can add a meal plan, but from what I've seen they are pretty pricey.

I would recommend you take a look at Mexico.   Flights are direct and cheap from Dallas, and even the luxury all inclusive resorts there tend to cost a LOT less than many US beach resorts.

You could easily make up the difference in cost from getting passports by getting a better deal there.    We booked ours through cheapcarribean.com.

That's what I was thinking.....I have nothing against getting one, and I think it will be so cool going outside the US, but I shall see about working more majic and seeing if I can convince him :)

    Thank you all :)

get a passport if you are going to fly anywhere!!! you get through much faster through security if you do. we were flying back from tenn for the 4th of july and they hassled my FI for almost 20 mins over his license. btw, he just got the license last summer and i got my a few months after that and the lady had to look his up in a book and stuff!!! major hassle.

as far as booking, use a travel agent and they can get better deals and will have some suggestions. we used:
    Caryn AngusCruise Planners/Ca-Travel(817) 889-2745ca-travel@sbcglobal.net
    www.ca-travel.com

btw, they only let my FI through when he showed them his CHL!!!!

In my travel research, there are NO all inclusives in the U.S.  I've spoken with many travel agents since february, and there is nothing.

I wanted to do the keys too, and maybe San Juan, but there werent any all inclusives so we are planning on a different island.
