Workout Accountability: Monday

Good morning, I see TK ate our last couple of threads.

I had a nice/busy weekend. I went shopping with a friend Saturday, so I got lots of walking in and yesterday was my long workout: lift, elliptical, ran 2 miles, and stationary bike.

Today is my rest day so I can finish addressing my invitations.

What are your goals for this week?  I have 2.2 lbs I'd like to lose by the end of May, so I guess losing a pound this week would be ideal.

Re: Workout Accountability: Monday

  • Morning!

Sounds like a fun weekend, Jude!

I didn't do overly well on the healthy eating or working out this week, but FI and I are stepping back into it today.  Bach party is amazingly on for next weekend, so I am trying to be super healthy this week.  We have fish and veggies on tap for dinner almost every night this week.  I'm hoping for weights today if the gym isn't 9 million degrees from the heat and humidity.

  • Hi Girls! It feels like a long time since posting! I've had a busy weekend with wedding and family related things, cleaning and yard work so I didn't get any legit exercise in. I am hoping to run 3-4 this afternoon.

My goals for this week are to not freak out (wedding is Saturday) drink a lot of water, get outside every day, eat lots of fruits and veggies and watch the salt!
  • Morning!

I am going to try not to dwell on how hard I fell off the wagon this weekend & focus on moving forward!  This weekend was so tough, being at my parents' house with all the yummy food/wine options in front of my face.  Ugh!

My fitting went well & I felt really good in the dress.  Such a huge difference from what it looked like when I tried it on initially in November.  So for that, I am happy.

This morning we lifted legs, and did 25 minutes on the treadmill doing run/walk intervals.  My goals for the week are to detox from the weekend!  Ha!  Starting off well this morning food-wise, and I want to make sure I keep it up this week.

    Have a great week!
  • I'm pretty satisfied with how my weekend went.

Friday I caved and finally bought a FitBit (should be arriving sometime this week!) just in time for the walking challenge at my work. Exercise wise I went on a 20 minute walk with co-workers on the trails behind our office, then after work I got to the gym and did 20 minutes on the stairmaster and 15 minutes of weightlifting. I had a short gym session because FI was desperate to go play some disk golf, so we went right from the gym to a park to play disk golf for 30 minutes. Altogether it was a decent amount of cardio.

Saturday I went to the mall and got some Vibram Fivefinger shoes to hopefully help with my feet falling asleep on the elliptical. So far I like them. I went a little over my calorie limit this day because we went to a wine tasting and then to a cider mill festival (that included hard cider and donuts...mmm).

Yesterday was our big grocery shopping day, which always seems to take FOREVER! Just barely made it to the gym, got in 15 minutes on the stairmaster, 20 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes of weightlifting before the gym closed. Then we went and played disk golf again, which ended up being a nice walk. For the day I had 15,000 steps, so I was pretty happy.

My goal for the week is 10,000 steps a day (even though for the walking challenge this week the goal is 3,000 - I know I can do better than that!). I also want to try to stay under my calorie limit every day (I really desperately want to lose another 3 lbs before the end of may).

SORRY FOR THE NOVEL! Just realized how much I wrote - I'm excited about fitness this morning!

  • Good job ladies!  I wasn't unhappy with my weekend eating.  Saturday was hard, as we were at our engagement encounter day ALL day and meals were provided.  It wasn't a great food day, but acceptable.  Yesterday was good, even though it was Mother's Day and mom wanted to go to a Chinese buffet.  I made sure to get the salad and fruit on the first plate to cut my cravings for much more.  And I tried to stay to un-fried food.  Workout yesterday was great.  I did weights and the elliptical and we walked to and from the gym.  Today is cardio.  It's going to be a good week back on the wagon!

  • Morning Ladies!

I tried to stay on point with my eating but I was eating/sleeping in a van for the Ragnar Relay. We left Thurs night for MA and didnt come back until Sunday morning. I did pretty well Thurs and Fri with food as I packed some stuff in a cooler, I didnt want to eat anything crazy and then have my stomach turn on me before running one of my legs (5.8 miles, 4.8 miles and then 3.1 miles in 24 hours)

Saturday after the race i had a burger and baked potato bc i hadnt eaten since breakfast besides whole wheat pretzels in the car and didnt care, then by the time we got home Sunday i had no food in the house and just had grilled cheese and ice cream for dinner, oops!

Back on track today as far as eating, yesterday i rested up so im not sure about working out, my legs are still a little sore, but I wont be able to do anything tomorrow since FI is graduating and its going to be a long day.
  • Hi Everyone.  I did OK this weekend.  FI and I went to the Storm King sculpture park in NY on Saturday, which was really neat, and we did a TON of walking (hit 20,000 steps according to my fitbit, which was the first time I've done that).  Eating wasn't the greatest, but managed to stay under my calories (just not quite as under as I wanted!).  Yesterday I just got in a 30 minute walk with in the evening.  Was busy all day with family stuff...eating was bad, but not awful....haven't counted the calories yet, so not sure of the damage.  Excited to get back into my routine this week--so much easier on weekdays!  Today's plan is just a 40 minute walk at lunch (with lots of hills).  Busy tonight with some volunteer work, so won't get to the gym.    Have a good day everyone!
  • Happy Monday All!

I did 45 minutes on the elliptical this morning and the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. Started My Fitness Pal so hopefully that will go well with what I am already doing. We have our engagement photos on Saturday so hopefully all the work I have been doing will show in the pictures. Another gloomy rainy day here, but this weekend is supposed to be warm and beautiful so let the countdown begin!!

  • Good Morning Ladies,

So I did not have the best weekend, workout wise. Saturday I had to take my last test for school, which meant I had to be an hour and a half away at 8 am!!!! Which meant I woke up at 5!!! Add this up with the 10 hours of overtime I worked last week (and will work this week) I was just too tired. Ok so then Sunday, was mothers day, my babies woke me up super early (they were so excited), and I did not have a great eating day. ( but I showed more restraint than normal) This morning I tried so hard, but just could not wake up, so I am hoping to workout tonight........so tired, this makes it hard. I am down 3 lbs (in one week) and totally motivated......just sooo tired.

  • Good Morning!

Today's an exciting day, we're packing our suitcases so we can head to Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico tomorrow morning! Woot!

The weekend was good for eating! Ate a lot of fish on Saturday (lunch & dinner) - which is unusual for me, but I'm trying to like fish so it was a step in the right direction! Yesterday we went to get ice cream, but rode our bikes there and back (37 minutes total), so I don't feel bad about it.

I'm starting to get a little worried about my Mexico trip though, I really don't want it to halt (or worse, reverse) my progress! It's all-inclusive, and I just hope there's lots of fresh fruit and veggies (and bottled water) available for me. I'm also going to use the gym there.. so I *know* that I will be fine, but there's still this voice in my head going "Oh no! Oh no!" The last time I went to Mexico for a week, I gained 4 pounds. I am determined that that will NOT happen this time.

Today I'm either going to go for a bike ride or a run. Not sure yet! Happy Monday all!

</div><div>Me too! I don't like fish, but we're trying to start incorporating it into our diet because we eat way too much red meat and fish is MUCH healthier.

  • I dunno what happened, but apparently my post in this thread was eaten by TK.

The weekend was good for eating, I had it off from exercise! Still did some though, yesterday we biked to get ice cream - that way I didn't have to feel any guilt what-so-ever about eating it.

Today we're busy packing for our trip to Nuevo Vallarta (Mexico) that starts tomorrow! EEEE!

I'm a little nervous though, because it's all-inclusive and since I'm not making food myself I just feel weird about not knowing what's in it.. you know? I'm hoping there's lots of fresh fruit and vegetables to choose from.. and bottled water! It's going to be tough to stay away from those free margaritas...

I'm planning on using the fitness facilities there, and I'm bringing my scale (I've already been told how terrible that is by FI) because I want to make sure half way through the trip that what I'm doing isn't killing me. Last time I went to Mexico for a week, I gained 4 pounds. In one week. That will NOT happen this time. :)

Talk to you ladies in a week! Perhaps a mid-trip check in if there is internet.. but there might not be.

    Have a good week everyone!

  • Happy Monday!

Well I fell off the wagon and tumbled around a bit last week. With graduation now behind me (and all the food/parties/cake/wine/champagne that comes with it... sounds like the wedding all over again!) I feel like I can get back to focusing on this weight loss. Because I started a new job, we've now moved our honeymoon/vacation to August. Which now gives me three months to get ready for that. Today I went walking. I felt like I could have done more, but I spent all weekend helping the H schlep all kinds of products that he and his business partner are going to market and sell. Each box weighed about 15lbs each... multiply that by close to 1,000 boxes and I think it's safe to say I got in my strength training for the weekend.

Funny side story: My H decided to slide the boxes down the cement paved warehouse unit where they'll store their "goods" for sale. Well I ended up in the path of one of those tosses and it took me out... and I landed flat on my back. I've been sore around the mid-back for the past two days but I feel like all the strength training I've been doing for the upper body and back helped because I could have hurt myself worse and I, thankfully, did not hit my head. My H has been uber nice to me these past few days. :-)

So this week it's all about getting back on target. I got the new issue of Oxygen magazine and will spend tonight creating a new meal plan, workout routine and will drink more water. I was doing so good on the water front and then I lost the momentum. But I can definitely feel the difference when I eat right, exercise, hydrate... and when I don't. Here's to a better week!

    Have a great one!

  • This weekend wasn't so great for me nutrition-wise, but I got a walk in both days and did mild circuit training on Sunday and today.
My semester is almost over and I cannot wait for it to end.
