SA Wednesday

Almost halfway through the week!

I have a test today so I came home last night to study and FI decides to crank up the music.  I let it grate on my patience for about an hour before I decided to ask him to turn it down.  I discovered the office door was locked.  Asked him to turn it down, and sounding frustrated he responded he had already turned it down just a second ago and shut the door and re-locked it.

FOUR HOURS of that effing music.  I made it through half a chapter of my test over 5 chapters today.  And why do you have to lock the door in your own house?  Yell

Have you gotten the 2 month old baby request yet?

I am ready for today to be done. I got here at 8, after sitting in traffic for more than an hour, and I won't leave til after our dinner with all the GMs tonight. So I won't be home til 11 tonight. It at least gives me an excuse to sneak out early tomorrow, since it's FI's birthday and I have yet to purchase anything for him, so I need to get that done on my way home. We have dinner and wine tasting reservations in Uptown tomorrow starting at 8:30 and I can't wait.

On another note, why is traffic more insane at 7am than at 8:20am?

    I'm over people today.

On another note, I had the weirdest dreams last night.
One was about my BMS and the other was about someone pouring a pitcher of Dr.Pepper on me then trying to steal my flip flops.

I think my favorite request (demand) was, "I know you don't want kids at the wedding, but it seems like you don't want any kids no matter who they are!  I can't believe you'd exclude kids in your immediate family, that's rude."

Hey, the only kids in my immediate family would be MY own kids, thank you very much.

Really I've just been a little shocked at how presumptuous some of our friends are.  The other day I had a guy turn to me and say, "So I notice there's no place on the response card for me to check if I'm bringing a guest."  And then insists on hashing it out right there, at dinner, in front of people who are NOT invited to our wedding.  One guy actually said, "At least you get to go to her wedding..." and then got all sad and broke my heart.  Annnngrrryyyy.

We had a similar issue--our great niece was 8 months old when J and I got married, and she was not allowed to be in the sanctuary during the ceremony. My SIL and niece weren't pleased with this, but my parents didn't want the risk of an infant or young child interrupting the ceremony. One of the GM's dates offered to babysit in the music room at the church so she wouldn't have to be left at home. I wasn't as worried about the reception, but they side-eyed me. I would never expect anyone to accomodate my young child--I would happily book a babysitter.

I agree!  If the kids they demanded to bring were 8 and 10, okay, fine, I'll let you have your way.  But 2 and 4?  Really?  Wrong.  Probably my favorite part was this person saying that the four year old will "enjoy each and every moment of the ceremony."  Yeah, when I was four I definitely enjoyed each and every moment of my aunt's wedding, right until I was removed for trying to hide under her skirt during the ceremony.

I agree with you, courtski.  I would NEVER expect anyone to accomodate my kids either.  Unless it's specified they are invited on the invites, I would automatically assume they are not invited.  Even if they were, I think I'd still book a babysitter.  I need some "adult only" time...

I'm sure that at my Aunt's wedding my sister and I were threatened within an inch of our lives to behave and not make a scene. If I remember correctly I don't think we were allowed to sit next to eachother. I was 10 and she was 5. Disaster waiting to happen.
At the time, "You're not the boss of me" was her response to everything I said...how awesome would that have been to hear in the middle of the readings?

There were two little girls that came to our ceremony--daughters of a GM, but they go to church regularly and know how to behave. I wasn't worried about them in the slightest. The loudest audible noise during my vows was my MIL hacking up a lung as a result of her pack a day habit. Classssssy.

Today I just want to say that I have been terrible about posting this past week, because of school being absolutely insane, but I've been trying to read all the threads. It's exciting to see so many new girls posting! :)

Also, I've been studying dog breeds, and I'm starting to think that Zoey might actually be a Borgi (Border collie/corgi mix)... definitely explains the coloring and the small short legs in proportion to the rest of her body!
