Lost Weight Getting Sick... How to Keep it Off?

I went to Rome for about a month a few weeks back and while there I lost about 15 pounds, about ten of which came off in the last week when I got really ill and couldn't keep food down.  Now I'm doing everything I can just to attempt maintaining the weight I'm at so I don't gain back what I lost, and it's not going so well.  I've gained about five pounds back already, even though based on my body's natural weight shifts I should be in a lighter part of my cycle than I was when I got back to the States.  I've heard a lot of advice about maintaining healthy weight loss, but how do you do it when the weight loss was unhealthy?  Is it unreasonable to expect not to gain back what was lost being sick?
