Getting in Shape

Hello

Wedding date: April 13,13

Weight loss/fitness goals:70 lbs, but would be happy with 40 and some toning

Favorite cake flavor: red velvet or double almond

If you lurk, how long have you: just a few days

Anything interesting about yourself: I told my friend after the first date "That guy is soo boring. there's not going to be a date #2" and now im marrying him funny how things work out :)

Any question you might have: Do you girls have any tips for a newbie?

I had the bright idea to try to kick off losing weight by walking a 5k that way next year this time I could really see the difference, maybe next time jogging instead of walking. Not realizing that my fiance still thought he was in high school (long story, short) now hes in a boot for at least a few weeks maybe longer, so there goes my work out partner...

</div><div>i totally said the exact same thing after our first date.  My friend made me give him another shot.</div><div>
</div><div>If you like the idea of running, check out the Couch to 5K program.  it's great for building up endurance to a full run. </div><div>
</div><div>Best newbie tip:  Your diet should be a priority.  Track your intake with a free site like Sparkpeople and stay in the healthy range.  That does mean trying not to eat too little as well as too much.  There is some good info in our GIS FAQ that is stickied at the top of the board.  Any specific questions?</div><div>

  • Ditto what PP said.  Diet is very important.  I'm doing the couch to 5K program and I'm on my second week.  I have seen results yet because I let me diet slack a little.  I'm hoping to get better and start losing again.
