Getting in Shape

losing lots of pounds...what a bless!!!

I never had problems with my weight all my life; I was always between sizes 8-10 for my height of 5'8". About 4 and 1/2 years ago, I had a very serious accident where I got my two legs injured and was not able to walk more than a block per time and with my injuries becoming more challenging, I came to weight 287 lbs in Christmas time, falling to 264 where I was until last Tuesday when I went for a Sleeve Bariatrics surgery, even though BMC is not 40.The main purpose of this surgery is to help me to walk and move easely. So, today, around 50 days for the wedding and just one week since the surgery has pass by, I am thrilled to inform that I am officially 20 pounds lighter. Now is just to keep up the new life style, forget what made me grow fat, and go back to my gorgeous brand name dresses that have been waiting for me these 4 and half years!!! I just wanted to share in with you girls because I am extremely excited!!!

  • Congrats! Keep going! [:

    - I'm sorry if I didn't understand correctly but will you be able to walk for your wedding day?

  • That's awesome! Very happy for you :)

  • Yeah, I will be able to walk. I walked, but with a lot of pain and mostly used to be seated because in one leg I have problems with my ankle (2 plates and 13 screws); the other I have problems with my knee (carticel surgery). So to walk or going up and down in strais was not that easy mostly because my weight that messed up also with my column.
Losing pounds, the doctor thinks that I will be as mobile as I was before!!!
  • I agree with the doc -- a lighter body is easier to carry around =)

Congrats on the goals!  Make sure you're getting enough vitamins/minerals and GOOD nutrients. Your body is working hard to heal, and you can help it along with the food you eat.  Sounds like you're doing great.
  • Thanks girls...I am doing my homework ...Protein, multivitamins, never have been so well behaved!!!
