Workout Accountability: Thursday

Good morning all!

I ran 4 miles last night, 3.5 at race pace.  I was a little frustrated with myself since it was honestly a struggle to do 3 miles yesterday, when on Monday it felt so easy and I kept going for 5.  I just need to keep telling myself that at this time last year, just running one mile would have been a challenge.

And tonight I'll be lifting and then the elliptical.

How did everyone else do?

Re: Workout Accountability: Thursday

  • heyjude- Stay positive!  Especially since you've more than doubled your distance from last year.  That in itself is an awesome accomplishment.  Tonight I will be doing some lifting as well.

Last night I finally made it back to the gym and it was awesome.  I just needed to run, run out all of the frustrations, sadness, etc.  I went for an hour doing my own little interval routine and ended up going 6.9 miles.  Thinking back I should've ran the extra .1 but I was dead, and completely exhausted.

My time would've been the same that I ran my 7 mile road race last summer if I had continued.  This is good news so hopefully I can complete it in under an hour by August.

  • Didn't get a chance to workout last night - went out for our anniversary dinner with the FI instead and got a little too much half off wine.

I'd like to say I'll be better tonight, but we are going to a Rat Pack themed Symphony performance tonight that I'm heading to straight from work so...probably won't leave much time for exercising.

  • Well, I skipped yoga this morning but I'm going to try a run this evening.  I am feeling really tight from my weight class Tuesday so I really should have gone to yoga and gotten my stretch on, but I was just soooooo tired I couldn't get up at 5am :(
  • lbarr- Thanks so much, I'm trying to focus on that! I think the treadmill is starting to get to me.  I cannot wait for warmer weather/sunlight after work to run outside again.   Nice work with your run! 6.9 miles is awesome!

entropic- Have fun on your date tonight!  A rat pack themed symphony sounds really cool!

<div>This is totally me.  On the weekends I suck it up and run outside for the most part, unless it is freezing.  The treadmill gets SO boring to me that is why I do intervals but that is starting to bore me as well.</div>
  • Happy Thursday, ladies!

I didn't have the energy to go to the gym last night, so I did 30DS at home.  I forgot what a workout it was :)

This morning I did 45 minutes on the elliptical.  Nothing mind-blowing, but it is my first week back to working out regularly.  And I've made it 4 out of 4 days (with a goal of 6) :)
  • The Knot ate my post.  Grr.

    Happy Thursday, ladies :)

I didn't have the energy to go to the gym last night, so I did 30DS at home instead.  I hate Jillian :)

I completed 45 minutes on the elliptical this morning.  It wasn't anything mind-blowing, but at least I went.  I keep reminding myself that it's my first week really back to it... and I've gone 4 out of 4 days (goal of 6) :)
  • I did 60 minutes of a thai kickboxing class.  My entire body is so sore today from kicking and punching I am going back tonight too :)  I have done this class once before and lost a lot of weight on it.

Thanks! I'm hoping it will be fun - at the very least there is free booze & food so I can't complain!

  • Yesterday was a 3 mile run that I struggled through for some reason-- I think because my legs were still super sore from Tuesday's Nike Training Club workout, they felt like concrete blocks as I was trying to run.

This morning I hit the gym before work and did some biceps/triceps for about 35 minutes with FI.  Had a 9:00 meeting so I kind of ran out of time to do anything else. =/
  • I started with a 20 minute Zumba class on the Kinect and then did my first day on Level Two of 30DS. Holy moly did it kick my booty. I will be perfectly fine if I never see another plank again in my life. I had an extremely frustrating day at work, so the workout, although tough, was a good way to release stress!

  • went to body works + abs today... ended up being more like a boot camp, but I liked it a lot! and my arms felt like jello after :)

  • I've never posted in one of these threads but maybe it will help me stay on track!

Today I started up the 30 Day Shred once again (I've never actually finished it.. grr). Did level 1 of course. Starting out I was really feeling it but a few minutes in I was having an easier time than I ever have in the past. It was weird but good! I feel awesome now and hope I'm not too sore tomorrow :-)

I just jumped back onto the workout train since my wedding is almost a year away now. I'd love to lose about 30 pounds, so if I have over a year to do it, there's no excuse right?

  • This week was a good week for me. Crossfit on Monday and Wed., cardio kickboxing on Tuesday and hot yoga today. I'm trying to tone up my upper body and core. The hard part for me is staying away from sweets and wine ):
