Re: 30 day shred

  • It's a great workout! you will sweat a lot and defiitely be sore. But stick with it through the soreness and you will see results soon :)

If you are trying to lose weight, I would definitely be mindful of what you are eating. I completed 30 days and didn't see much results, but I was not good about what I was putting in my body.

  • You will be sore, especially if you are like me and not already in great shape, haha. But it's a good sore! It's only about 25 min total so it's quick but effective. Just push yourself, take a short break for water if you need to. Also if you need to take a day off here and there, that's fine too (and probably a good idea if you're just starting to work out hard like this).

I'm only a few days in but I FEEL a lot better. No big change in inches or the scale yet but I have more energy despite being sore. Stick with it and good luck!

  • I'm also doing the Shred!  I have a busy schedule... sometimes I leave at 7 a.m. and get home after 11 p.m.... I had to let myself have days off for that reason.  I feel my pudge getting firmer and I have a lot more energy.  I did skip the "knee rolls" once because I have knee issues and that warm up hurt a lot... I paid for it for days afterwards!  DO THE WARM-UPS!
Best of luck and please keep us posted on your progress!
  • Just wondering if any of you did extra cardio alongside the 30 day Shred?? I have been doing 45-60 min of cardio since Jan 1, and so less than 30 for a workout seems like maybe I'd want to supplement? Am I delusional??
  • I am doing the 30 Day Shred and also doing Couch25K at the same time, just started this week... so far loving the combination of the two :)
  • I am on day 15 of the shred, and I do run outside if the weather is cooperative for cardio, although I sprained my ankle last night running I might have to take a day or two off from the shred, but I was doing it everyday with FI and I enjoying it, love how quick the workout is, I don't have much to loss but I do see more definition in my arms and I have lost an inch off both my waist and hips/butt...

  • I add a 20-minute Zumba class on my Kinect to my 30DS workouts. I do Zumba first to get all loose and warm and then do 30DS. I think I am going to try the 45 minute class today and see how I feel after it. If you're used to 45-60 mins of cardio, I don't think it would be a bad idea to supplement with 30DS.

FI came home while I was doing my last circuit of 30DS Level Two yesterday and plopped on the couch while I was doing plank jacks and double jump ropes. Usually I flake on that last section of abs (in a plank, bring knee in and twist), because it's so dang hard, but with him sitting there I toughed it out. I was making some gawdawful noises.

At the end he said, "wow, that looked tough!" And I said, "yeah, aren't you going to congratulate me or say 'can't believe you did that'?" and he replied, "but I can believe you did it!" Heart melted.
