Hi - We're currently trying to decide on exact wording for our ceremony, and now I'm at the Blessing of the Rings section (what we say when we put the rings on each other). If you could let me know what wording you used for that part, that might be helpful! My officiant gave us some options, but I'd love to hear what you used! Thanks!
Re: Blessing of the Rings Wording
Minister: O Lord, our God, we ask your blessing upon these rings that they may be constant symbols of unending love and devotion. Amen.
In turn, both groom and bride repeat after the Minister:With this ring, I thee wed, and pledge my faithful love.
Does this help??
Lord, please bless these rings that Bride and Groom are about to exchange. May these rings forever remind them of their covenant with one another, as well as the circle of love they have publicly created here today. May their compassion and kindness for one another always be like these rings, with no beginning and no end. May the precious metal remind them of their precious commitment, and if either begins to tarnish, may they joyfully undertake the sacred duty to make it shine brightly again. May their relationship always be like these rings, separate but close, simple but beautiful. May these rings always belong to their hands, and their love always belong in each other’s hearts. Amen
“With this ring, I pledge my love and faithfulness to you, today, tomorrow and always. As this ring has no end, neither shall my love for you.”
Pastor to groom: Groom, what token do you give of the vows you have made?
Groom: This ring.
Pastor: Bless this ring, O Lord, that he who gives it and she who wears it may abide in Thy peace and continue in Thy favor, unto their life's end; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
Groom(repeating after Pastor): This ring I give you- in token and pledge- of our constant faith- and abiding love.
Repeat all for bride
