When I was younger I used to volunteer at Operation Kindness, which is a no-kill animal shelter. I've always wanted to work with Habitat for Humanity, but have never actually done it.

My family and I volunteer at Union Gospel Mission in Ft Worth and Arlington Life Shelter in Arlington once a month.

My FI and I both volunteer at OK (Operation Kindness) though thanks to all the wedding planning haven't beenrecently.  Great organization!!

I also volunteer with Junior League of Plano.  We actually support all of Collin County and you don't actually have to live in Plano (I live in Dallas).  I have met some amazing women and they do a lot of good in Collin County.  Not sure how much time you have to give, though I will say your provisional year (first year) is a fairly steep time commitment- but still an awesome organization.

If you're interested, I can put you in touch with someone who could tell you more about membership and when the next information session will be.

I volunteer for Senior Source.  I am involved in the Money Management program, but there are other programs that are not money related.  It's a great organization!

    I usually check Volunteermatch.org
They have several different things on there and you can search by what type of volunteering you would like to do.  I usually like to work with kids, but they have most of the major ones on that website.
