Beach brides come in!

I am looking for cute ideas for the ceremony like paint brushes to get the sand off your feet, shoes optional sign, etc. What are you doing??

Re: Beach brides come in!

  • I haven't even started thinking of cute stuff yet. I want to do the paint-brushes, but the sand at the beach where we are getting married doesn't really brush off nicely. It kind of sticks and makes you feel dirty :) I wish we were getting married on the Gulf but my dad lives 15 mins from the Atlantic so it was easier. (Free dog sitter for our 3 monsters).

  • We are getting married at the beach but not on the beach.  Our ceremony location has a boardwalk deck that overlooks the beach/ocean.  Because of this, I haven't really thought about cute beachy things.  And our theme isn't beachy either...

    sorry couldn't help more.

  • We are setting up a little rack where they can drop their shoes off if they want too. I didn't think about paint brushes i was going to put down a little rug but now I am thinking 2 sand buckets with 5 paint brushes in each with a little sign will be cute. We are also handing out bubbles and I was going to have them in galvanized buckets with a sign that says "Blow us mermaid kisses for warm wishes" LOL I don't know what else but it'll come together slowly. Hope that helps some.

  • I love the bubble "mermaid kisses" idea!
  • I'm also thinking about doing a blessing stone ceremony. Since we are only having about 15 guests I think it will be fun. Not sure where to fit it in though. http://www.allenweddings.net/the-look/themes/stargazer/item/49.html
  • Hmm, haven't moved onto the cute stuff yet.  I like PP's idea of small buckets with paintbrushes, but I really don't know yet.  We're getting married on the beach (that's always been my one rule!), but it's not beach-themed.

  • I like the stone idea. I think that since you are having a small wedding I would let your guests say something during the wedding. You could also give them a sharpie and have them write a wish and toss it.

  • I was thinking of having the guests write their blessing/wish on a card before the ceremony. During the ceremony we will have a moment of silence where the guests will hold the stone and bless it. After the recessional the officiant will ask everyone to proceed to the waters edge. The bridal party will join them and we will all throw the stones into the water. The written cards will be a keepsake for us.
