Music

Has anyone decided on the wedding ceremony songs yet?  We just started thinking about it but I think we are going to go the unconventional route (meaning, not using anything like "here comes the bride), since we are not getting married in a church.  Anyone else going this route?

  •  I'm walking down the aisle to Somebody's getting Married, from Muppets Take Manhattan. I used to watch that movie every day when I was a little girl. I knew that song was exactly what I wanted.

  • I'm going to walk down to For You by Kenny Latimore and everyone else with walking down to Angel (Instrumental) by Robin Thicke

  • I'm definitely going a non-traditional route. I am not sure yet, but thinking processional might be "Endlessly" by Green River Ordinance & recessional "Soldier" by Gavin DeGraw. I LOVE the Muppets idea!!
  • Cute ideas. We are going to have the bridal party walk down to "Marry Me" by Train and I want to mix some tradition in there so i will walk down to "Here Comes the Bride" which completely shocked my mom when we had this conversation. My FI wants us to walk down the aisle after we're married to "Cant Touch This" haha! That hasnt been decided yet thou. Lol our bridal party will be introduced to "Easy" by Phillip Phillips and our first song so far is "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes. I cant believe how many song choices go into wedding planning! Oh yeah, we are also doing a flowet girl and ring bearer pick. So far the 2 year old ring bearer wants Gangnam Style! Haha And my 7 year old flower girl wants to play Georgia Peaches! Haha

  • Getting married in a Catholic church.  I'm just going to watch this tread with envy ;-)
  • Our before-ceremony music will be all Beatles love songs, played by the pianist at our church.  I'm probably walking down the aisle to Imagine  (Megan and I are both HUGE admirers of John Lennon).  Not sure what music for the FGs and RB (brother and sisters - possibly all going down together).

  • Wow, you guys have some great songs!  I am so up in the air.  I am also trying to think of what the wedding party should walk down to, as well as when people are being seated, and when we leave.  So many details! :)

<div>There are a lot of restrictions to what you can choose/not choose.  It cannot be secular music.  They won't allow "Hear Comes the Bride" or a contemporary song like "Marry You".  We're probably going to use Pacabell's Cannon (always a favorite of mine).</div>
  • I've developed an obsession with the Vitamin String Quartet. As of right now, the parents will be seated during Crazy Love, the bridal party will walk into Just Like Heaven, and I will walk into A Thousand Years all by the Vitamin String Quartet. For the recessional, I am using Rhythm of Love by the Plain White T's - its just so fun and I am really excited about this song. Other ones I've considered was a piano version of Marry Me, but it was missing the extra Oomf. I'm getting married at a country club, so we have no restrictions. My neightbors were married in a church last year and she really wanted to do an instrumental of stairway to heaven, but the Church would not allow it. She was so disappointed - so I recommend checking with your venue early.
