Feel like I've found my dress and my venue

So I just started planning this past weekend and I already feel like I found my dress and my venue! The only issue with the venue was the UGLY carpet but I was informed that they will be taking up the carpet and she offered us a complimentary stay in the penthouse on our wedding day which is nice!! But the kicker is that  I haven't found looked at anything else, I have looked at all the sites that are listed on this site as venues! And the only other one I like that was in our budget is booked for my day!!!! Some say just wait becuase I may change my mind, after actually visiting and not just looking on line but I really like it... Not sure what to do!!!

Also went dress shopping this weekend! Found a dress that i just liked at first but now  I think it about it so much I think I really like it (During the fitting I was all caught up on the way it looked on me in 2 sizes to big) But there was a trunk show and the dress is now 20% through tomorrow! But I have only gone dress shopping once, (we went to 2 shops)... I looked on line and there is another trunk show in Feb, do designers usually have the same dresses in their trunk shows, or should I just go with it becuase I really do like it and I really like the 20% off??? In the back of my head there is that what if i find something later that i really like will i regret buying the dress! Im such an indecisive person lol!

Re: Feel like I've found my dress and my venue

  • I'm indecisive too. I also end up regreting my decisions if made too quickly.
If it were me (and its not so take this for what its worth), the venue is the priority. If there really isn't any where else available in your budget you might just have to book the one you looked at. Do you have the option to change your date?  I might bring up the carpet issue and add a clause to the contract stating that if the carpet is not replaced by a certain date before your wedding (whenever they told you) you have the option to pull out of your contact for a full refund. Its not nice to think about but sometimes plans (or money) fall through and you based a decision on their word.

As for the dress, you say you "like" it. If you aren't doing backflips over it I would wait instead of jumping on something you might regret later because of a sale. There are so many dresses out there in so many price ranges that you are sure to find something you are dying over at your price point or even lower. And you can still go back and get this dress if you are finding nothing else...not with the 20% off of course.
