in September 2013 Weddings
I am confused on what I should do. My FI and I currently live in Hawaii, and are getting married in Colorado in Sept. We will be moving off island and back to the mainland at some point, but not sure when. We will need household items then, but certainly not now. Is it ok to ask just for gift cards?

    This may be a question for the etiquette board...
     If you don't register you will probablly get more monetary gifts,so instead of flat out asking for money or giftcards I would just not register at all. Maybe a family member from the mainland can hold onto the household gifts you receive so that you don't have to move them back and forth.

    I wouldn't ask this on the E board, they will rip you a new one!

    I might go for a honeymoon registry, in this instance. If you do register, you can always return things you get for gift cards. Whatever you do, make sure you start spreading the whole story by word of mouth, so people understand why you aren't asking for gifts.
