Days off of work

So how many days are you taking off of work prior to getting married and for your honeymoon?


I was thinking of taking the two days (Thursday and Friday) before and then the whole week after.

I work nights so I'm thinking just the Friday before, then our honeymoon will be Monday - Saturday so I think I will go back that Sunday night.

Well I was just in a wedding and let me tell you that bride was busy the full week before!! But I might just take off thursday and friday since my wedding is on a sunday.  and then 9 days after the wedding I will have off

I'm already saving up my vacation days... I plan to take 2 weeks off starting the week before the wedding. We get back from our honeymoon on a Monday, and I know I will want the extra couple days to settle back into being home before going back to work.

I plan to take the Thursday, Friday off before the wedding, the the week following for the honeymoon. I was originally thinking 2 weeks after, but FI might be planning a trip to San Fran for a football game with the guys a month or so after the wedding, so I might fly down and do a part 2 honeymoon. So One week after, one week a couple months later.

My boss is freaking out over me taking so much time.  I'm trying to reassure her that it is a pretty normal amount.  (can you say job security)  She doesn't know what she will do without me for that long and complains that she only got 2 days off after she got married to her current husband.  Thankfully a co-worker has offered to help take on my work load for that week.

As of right now, I plan on taking the Friday before, the week after, and maybe a few days into week two.  We'd like to do a 10 day honeymoon and leave the Monday after we get married.  We're thinking about only traveling for 9 days so we can relax for a day and ease our way back into work.  We'll see...

I'm taking off the Friday before and 2 weeks after - the Thursday before is still up in the air.  The wedding is on a Saturday, we leave for our honeymoon on Tuesday and return the following Tuesday, and I'm taking the remainder of the week just to bask

FI will probably go right back to work as soon as we get back; his work isn't as flexible about time as mine.

We are taking Thurs-Fri off before and then taking a week and a halfish after.  So I'll hopefully be off Sept 19th - October 1st if all goes as planned. 

Wedding: Saturday Sept 21
Leave for St. Lucia: Sunday Sept 22 afternoon (maybe Monday)
St. Lucia Sept 22 - Sept 25
Naples, FL: Sept 26 - Oct 1st (FI's aunt has a luxury condo - might as well take advantage!)
Back to work: Wednesday Oct 2nd

We leave for Vegas on Sept 17 (wedding is Sept 21) I'm planning to return to work Oct 7.

Friday before, going on a mini moon until Monday. Back to work Tuesday. We plan on taking a real vacation the next summer

I'm thinking about taking the Friday before (we're very short at work) off.

I'm definitely taking Sat-Mon off (Sun wedding). Then work a few shifts before leave on our honeymoon on Friday (that way we maximize the number of weekends for FI... he has less vacation than I do). We should be on our honeymoon 9/6-9/22 (about 2 1/2 weeks)
