O the stress

September 28 is our big day and I feel so behind. Is it just me or is trying to get help getting adresses like pulling teeth? I decided if I dont have them by the end of next month I will just start stalking people myself via facebook LOL. We have our venue our photographer and possible DJ. The catering is still up in the air and so is the guest list. We have had a crazy October with November and December being just as bad so I have kind of said I would try not to stress until the first of the year comes but I just feel so behind. I guess this is kind of a vent but also wouldnt mind advice how is everyone else going about planning and staying organized from vendors to decor?

Hang in there and take things one step at a time! Remember there are only so many things you can control, try to let go of the others and enjoy the ride!

I know what you mean!  It feels like there are just so many details that need to get decided and purchased and such!

Agreed!  Deciding on big, expensive details for the big day has made me nervous to make a final decision!

@ Kristeno- have you set up a binder or system to keep track of your vendors, busniess cards and receipts?  It's helping me out a lot to stay organized.

Yea I have a binder but I feel like I have just scribbled things in there. I found a free organizer I just need to print and its nice but we still havent bought a printer. I feel so behind I laugh because my FI is always like dont spend money and I have to remind him in order to have a wedding you have to spend money lol this is just a bad time of year we have had soooooo much going on! UGH

We have the same wedding day! I started planning in July. I'm using the knots checklist and I'm on month 8 getting through it. So a little ahead of schedule. Helps a lot so I recommend it

I agree with you about getting addresses especially from FI family. Planning is not so hard, it's the sharing of decisions that's getting to me. I have 2 binders btw. One I scribble in and the other is all nice. Both free from pash weddings. I also use various apps on my iPad and android. I've found that using various methods helps calm down some of the madness

I am still missing a ton of address - very few are ones my FI still owes me but other than that my dad's side of the family is missing... and no one has them - we don't see them at all - but for the sake of my dad they need to at least be invited - i am not expecting any of them to come - but i can't invite them without addresses...

i have a spreadsheet of addresses  - i have my notebook for all the random papers and notes - but i feel like i have nothing done...

I have a binder with all of my printouts, paper samples, business cards, and whatever else. I also have a jump drive clipped in there that has my wedding planning files. I have a spreadsheet with everyone's names for the outer envelope, inner envelope, their address, phone number, invited, attending, the invitation number to write on the RSVP card in case they don't write their name, where they'll be sitting for the ceremony either bridal party, reserved seating, or general seating, table number for the reception, what they get as a gift, and whether I've sent a thank you note. I figured it would be easy to put most of everything in one place. All of my family and friends have all of their addresses and numbers filled in but I only have a few of FI's. I gave him his list of people and told him he had until the end of October to get everything lol. Now I'm just waiting to see if he actually gets them. I found that getting addresses was a good task to pass off on others who are offering to help with the wedding plans.

Has anyone else in your family gotten married lately?   We got lucky and grabbed lists from his side and my side and they were all just about complete!

I'm having the same issues with collecting address... I have all my friend's address (I just e-mailed them, and they all e-mailed me back...). I have none of my relatives, my parents' friends, or FI's relatives... I do have all of FI's friends, because one of them just had a wedding so I stoled their address list. I'm waiting for FI's sister to send me the addresses of FI's relatives from her wedding... If they don't get the addresses, then they don't get invited... I won't be hurt about it, because I don't know these people... so I feel like it's on FI, FI's family, and parents to get the addresses.
