MMM

Good morning, knotties! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. What's on the docket for this week?

Re: MMM

  • WR: FI and I forgot to go over the guest list this weekend.  So we have to do it next weekend instead.  It should be fine though.  We only have two addresses left to get so that's a good thing, and hopefully we'll get that done this week.  I'm starting to address our Save the Dates.  The goal is five a night.  We'll see how that goes...

NWR: I bought a new car this weekend (Kia Sportage) so I'm going to pick it up.  I have to find the title for my current car (trade-in) which is somewhere in my parents' house but I have no clue where.  So tonight I'm taking everything out of the old one and trying to find th title.  Yay!!!
  • WR- Calling my photog tomorrow! It's been a month since he said they would be ready and 2 weeks since the last time I spoke with him! Two weeks ago, he said they would be ready in a week and still have not heard from them!

NWR- I finally get a whole day off on Friday and I'm going to a Phillip Phillips concert!!! Ahhhh soooo excited! And, it's 72 degrees here today so I'm leaving work a few hours early to enjoy the sunshine and either go hiking or to the dog park with my puppy! Laughing

  • Bos: YAY for new cars!!!
MrsK: I would be pretty antsy for those photos.  You have been quite patient!

WR: My dress came in!  I love it but I definitely need to lose more weight.  Blah.
We are going to the florist on Saturday to talk centerpieces and maybe bouquets.

NWR: My mom is doing to be fine :) It isn't cancerous.
FI's dad is Afib and they are monitoring him and may shock his heart back into rhythm in two weeks.  He is not a happy camper with all of the monitoring and low salt diet but whatever works!

  • I was in contact with a local knottie who got married on saturday. she was moving to new york the day after the wedding and gave us ALL of her candles. All we had to do was drive to her venue and pick them up.

I am super grateful, she easily just saved me a hundred dollars. So we are now going thru five boxes of votives, cleaning them in hot water, and deciding if we want to reuse the candles (they are tall and have plenty of burn time left on them) or buy floating candles.

    Good deal!
Bos - congrats on the whip!  I'm dying for a new Edge but don't want the note that comes with it lol.

I am trying to get back into my TK groove - I've been insanely busy the past few weeks and haven't even thought about logging in.  I did start working out last week!

However, I am weak and got a cheesesteak for lunch, blah.

  • My mind is already starting to check out this week.  I have our work Christmas party on Friday afternoon and my FI's on Saturday night which is also my birthday.  I haven't met a lot of his co-workers yet but I'm looking forward to it because they seem like a lively fun bunch.  I work with a bunch of old bittys who are dissatisfied with the choice of going to a hibachi grill.

I'm going to try to do as much online Christmas shopping as I can.  I have only purchased two gifts.  And I have no clue what to buy my FI.  I've sworn I wouldn't withdrawal any from our wedding savings and I refuse to use a credit card since I'm working a 2nd job to pay the darn thing off; so I'm on a very tight budget.  Ugh.

  • Right now I'm just glad I survived the weekend.  I haven't been posting much lately because I am now the acting nights and weekends manager for the retail store I work for whilst our usual n&w manager is away for surgery.  And since everyone and their mother has the flu, I've had quite a time of it.

WR: Addressing save the dates.  I really want to start making progress, but I'm missing a lot of addresses still, mostly FI's friends (I gave him a list a month ago) and some of his cousins that his mother didn't know the address of when she sent me her list.  I still have a couple of mine to grab, so the blame is not all on his side.

NWR: I get to do the rest of my Christmas shopping and finish Christmas cards on Thurs.  (have to wait for the paycheck, blah.)  Then Fri. I go pick up my brother and Sat. my brother, FI, the dog and myself will cram ourselves in my Jeep for a trip to grandma's house to see my cousins (one of which my FI hasn't met but they have tons in common so all he's been hearing the last year or so is "you really should meet cousin J, you have so much in common!").
  • Finally..I get to do some planning since school is over!! I've arranged venues for us to visit in VA, bakeries, photographers, and florist to check out. Christmas shopping to do this week, pack to go home for 5 weeks, and I get to clean out my closet from all this semester's junk..YAY ME!!!
  • We got our new hot tub installed today! We just bought our first house and moved in this past August, so it's nice to be able to have something like that! I'm not a big hot-tub fan but FI is, and I have to admit it will be a treat to have during our cold Canadian winter!! :)
  • The weekend was awesome spent it relaxing with my fiancé rented movies n cooked together this whole weekend =) WR: not much other than getting the rest of the addresses for when we send out the save the dates next month since I won't be ordering them until 2 weeks. Also still need to put down the deposit on the DJ once he contacts me. It's my friends uncle so he's legit! Lol ohhhh and going to davids bridal on Sunday hopefully for color swatches. NWR: my fiancé and I are going to look at houses on Friday!! We got preapproved for a loan so we're going to check some out. We're new to this whole house buying thing so we're confused. We are renting right now but are dying to buy our own place :)

  • Have fun with your house buying AlejandraN! Look at lots of listings, and open houses are great for just scoping stuff out, with no pressure...we went to a few open houses, then the first house we went and looked at with the realtor, we fell in love with.  It was quite a battle, as there were already offers in on it...we didn't know what we were doing either, but you learn pretty fast! Also, make sure you have a good realtor, ours was double-ending the deal and we wouldn't do that again!
  • Thanks semi891 : I have to look up any possible open houses I didn't even think about that. Seems like it would be a great idea so we wouldnt feel pressured or feel like we're wasting the realtors time. It's definitely not something we don't want to take our time with. We want to get a house we both love not pressure into. What do you mean by the realtor doubleending the deal? Doesn't sound good! Lol. I would hate to be screwed over but I think we're okay we're going through the same realtor my sister and 2 of her friends went through.
