MMM

And somehow it's Monday again. What does this week have in store for you, ladies?

Re: MMM

  • WR - This week we're going out to our Venue to meet the new wedding coordinator. Our last one left to start her own company. I'm looking forward to getting back out to the venue and getting some answers for questions we have. We're also starting dance lessons this week. Not "First Dance" dance lessons, just lessons, to keep us active. We did a class in the fall and really enjoyed it so we decided to do another before we sign up for private wedding lessons.

NWR - My mom's 50th birthday is this weekend. My sister and I got her West Side Story theatre tickets and we arranged to have a limo pick us up and bring us for dinner before hand. It should be fun!

  • I feel like time goes by so much faster when you having something to write about every day lol.

This week is all about my best friend who is getting married in June.  We ordered her shower invites yesterday, working on her favors tomorrow and wednesday and then Saturday I'm going to her cake tasting!

I'm taking a weeks break!  After doing the honeymoon deposit this weekend, all big deposits besides the cake are down before the 8 month mark...I'm content!

  • I was going to address my STDs, but read a post about the Vistaprint postcards being flimsy, so I'm sending a few out and gonna get feedback how they made it through the mail. I might have to buy envelopes for them.

I also am determined to get my mock invitation together, so I can see what postage I need for it. (hoping for forever stamps, but most likely the more expensive ones.) This will determine what postage I need to get and if I can get it before the prices go up.

We really need to get a photographer. SO that's on the high priority list.  I feel so far behind.

  • WR: finish addressing all the STD envelopes. FI finally asked the remaining 2 groomsmen so now I can finally send them out, well that is, I can send them out when I get the Return Address Stamp in the mail.  I went to one bridal expo this past weekend with FI and tasted a ton of terrible food and cake and I will be going to a different bridal expo with my mom on Sunday.  I hope I find a dj and cake!  And I really hope my caterer is there so I can taste some of his food (we haven't done a tasting yet, so I hope I like his food... the other caterers I tasted this weekend made me very nervous).

NWR:  This is going to be an extremely boring week at work, so I hope I can get motivated to exercise a lot this week!

  • I'm going to begin the nagging process towards my FI about contacting the bluegrass band we had previously contacted back in the fall.  We've never gotten a contract or anything in writing or any communication other than they agreed to do it.  I'm very anxious because my gut just has a bad feeling about it.  They're only charging us $600 which is wonderful for our budget but I just have a horrible feeling they might suck at weddings despite being good in a bar setting. If it falls through we need to know asap so we can just get a DJ.  This has been the only thing that my FI has been in charge of and I feel like he needs to get on the ball.  It's writing an email, or making one phone call.  Ugh.

I also contacted my photographer (whom is also my cousin) to see about getting engagement pictures done now that my FI's Bell's Palsy has healed.  He wants to wait until Spring when the flowers are blooming and thinks we have a lot of time to get that done before STDs need to go out.  Our STDs are designed... they just need a picture.  So I guess we're now shooting for April/May.  The anticipation is killing me though.

So this week I plan on doing a lot of breathing exercises to keep myself sane.  :-)

  • WR: I really need to finish my Save the Dates.  That's my #1 priority this week.  I also want to put together the guest book on Groupon this week.  I figure those two things will take up all my time.

NWR: I have a side project to work on.  I'm supposed to be done with it at this point, but I'm hoping to spend all day Saturday working on it.  We'll see.
  • WR:  Sending the STDs and finishing our registry section of the website.  Tracking down mason jars for the centerpieces - my original plan had been to order them online, but glass shipping rates are insane!  Finalizing the invitation suite so I can print a sample and get it weighed.  Little stuff - like Ellie, all my big deposits have been paid and I'm on cruise control for a little bit.

NWR:  Getting FI healthy again; he's at home sick but I think my old school cough/cold remedy has put him on the path to recovery!  Rearrange the little man's bedroom - he decided that instead of sleeping, last night would be a great time to rip through his storage closet and pull out all the old toys.  The joys...!

Suggestions for mason jars: your local craigslist, your local ebay vendors, antique stores, yard sales.... even a Facebook post.

That was one of the first things I decided on when we became engaged was using antique blue mason jars.  Of course, everyone was so excited that each time I turned around someone was bringing me a couple they found for cheap.  I now have over 90 of them collected between family friends and myself.

  • This week I have no concrete plans WR or NWR. I hope the photographer will finally finally be booked, fingers crossed... Time will show. Also hope I can make some headway with the dress and the dj, so far it just feels like I am banging my head against the wall every step of the way. Sigh.
Tomorrow I have a deadline for an article so have to finish that today!
Friday I start singing lessons :)
  • WR: Today I made my hair clip, booked engagement pictures with our photographer for easter when we go home and will be paying the dj deposit this week.

NWR: Nothing really exciting, just the usual stuff and keeping up doing my workouts and eating healthy

Thanks Goofy, I'll try that!  My local Walmart usually carries them, but never many cases at a time and I need 9 of them.

Oh, if you're just doing new clear mason jars, I would look into trying a hardware store (Mom & Pop kind).  Talk to the owner and see if they will order you the amount of cases you seek.  Most people like that will bend over backwards to help you. You get what you want and you'll be more apt to patronize them and/or tell others how well they treated you.  It's a win/win.

Did you try save-on-crafts yet for mason jars? They seem to be reasonable priced, although I didnt check out the shipping...

  • WR: probably nag the photographer for our save-the-date photo... Still don't have them printed. Need to research and buy envelopes, etc. I feel so far behind all of you ladies already addressing! Also going bridesmaid's dress shopping for the second time on Saturday.

NWR: First day of my last semester of grad school today! Missed a bunch of work, though, so trying to catch up (NOT -- I'm on here instead!); FI is getting his wisdom teeth out on Friday, so I will be playing nurse all weekend.

  • My sister, niece and nephew are comin to town on Friday. I think I am getting my jewelry over the weekend an we are getting a treasure box from michaels and working on it to age and distress it so it can be my card box for the wedding. Other than that not too much going on

  • My maids are coming to town this weekend :)  We're going to go BM dress shopping and I'm going to show them our wedding venue.  Two of my maids coming (one couldn't make it for work reasons) live really far away and I'm just so happy that they are able to make it.

As far as planning goes, most of the major things are taken care of and deposits paid.  Now I have to start taking care of the ticky-tack details.  For example, weighing the invitation suite and buying stamps (before the price change) and getting a hotel block.  I also have to sort through our contracts and figure out when people's next payments are due. It'd be sweet if I could those last few addresses. And the list goes on...

    Here's hoping for a productive week :)
