STD Dilemma: semi-rambling

So I posted an eternity ago about the save the date postcards I was doing early because I had a Living Social deal that was due to expire, the link to that with my current Save the Dates is HERE.

Obviously that was way before we did our engagement pictures, and I thought I didn't mind NOT having a picture on the front... but now that I have my pictures I kind of want to use them. However, the budget/schedule side of me says to not waste money on more, and that I don't have time to wait for new ones to come in because they have to be out by the end of next week at the latest (lots of OOT, OOS, and teachers on the list that will have to schedule travel/vacation around our wedding).

So what do you think? Do I save the money and time by sending out what I have? I'm also thinking that most people will use the STD to mark the date on their calendar and then toss it, so I don't know that I want to spend money on new ones when I could focus instead on making my invitations amazing.

  • I vote keep what you got - save the money!
  • I would just save the money.

Honestly, I wish I had never done STDs in the first place. They were a huge PITA to pacify the few who "didn't know when the weddign was and had to ask off work"...in Spetember the year before. Yea right.

  • This is a no-brainer.  Save the money and the hassle.  My DH's parents' best friends in the whole world got our magnet STD, tossed it, and booked a cruise for our wedding date.  It's not worth it.

<div>Lol kind of my thought, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't just being my usual cheap self. But I guess being on a budget doesn't give me many other options :)</div><div>

  • If you can do it yourself. I ordered my postcards from 123print.com and they were super cheap. You can also express ship for like $3 or $5.

If you can't do it yourself in the next day or two though, just go with what you have--they are cute.

  • I'm torn here because I think your pics are ADORABLE and loved seeing the multiple people who had ours up on their fridge. That said, agree that it's not worth the time or money at this point to re-do!
  • I do love your pictures, but I voted to go with what you have.  You could make prints of your e-pics and have them on your tables at your reception if you wanted to display them.  MIL went to a wedding where the pics weren't even in frames, just laid out on the tables, with a note inviting guests to take home any they wanted (I won't criticize giving pictures of yourself as a favor, but whatever).
