Hey Knotties,

We are planning on asking a good friend of ours to officiate our ceremony next year. Should we offer her cash? Pay for her hotel for the night? Something else?

We'd like to show our appreciation, but is there a proper thing to do since this is definitely not her full time job?

Any advice would help, thanks!

We are also asking a good friend to officiate our ceremony.  We plan to give him  nice gift and probably paying for his hotel room for the night.  I don't know if there is ettiquette, but this is what we are doing.  Hope it helps.

I'm asking one of my best friends to help out with the ceremony too. As the official ceremony will be in Hungarian we are asking her to translate everything for us so that we actually understand what is going on. I think we will pay for her hotel room, and as she is also a BM of mine she will get a small BM gift too...

We are already paying ours 275 to do ours. I may give her a tip if she does an excellent job but its already a lot of money.
