Morning Wedding? LONG

Ok so my FSMIL (future step mother in law) suggested to my FI that since we are getting married on the beach we should have a morning wedding and brunch afterwards. He actually likes this idea and I am starting to because before we started dating we went out to breakfast every Friday as friends. I am also thinking that we could bump it up to Labor Day weekend since most people have that Monday off and are usually at the beach anyways. Plus that would give us a chance to take a nap because we were going out afterward to party since we aren't having alcohol and was looking to have a ipod reception anyways. My only cons to this is I hate to wake up in the morning and I am not pleasant. I also don't like most breakfast foods (oatmeal, pancakes, french toast, eggs eww). On the other hand I LOVE bacon. I mean who doesn't love bacon? I guess I am trying to ask ya'lls opinion on a morning wedding oh and by morning I mean like 10:30am, and the whole brunch thing, and can I still use my black and white colors?

Re: Morning Wedding? LONG

  • Well if you guys went out for breakfast every Friday morning what Did you eat then? I think it's cute and special for you too. 1030 is perfect to me. Also I'm not a morning person either but chances are you'll get little to no sleep anyway the night before so I'm not sure if that'll even matter. I'd say go for your black and white as well. Break the mold. You don't find black and bright white at the beach so I think they will pop against the Blue ocean and sand.
  • Not sure what the beach has to do with brunch, but you can get married any time of day you want! You can have the ceremony at 11:30/12 and serve lunch. That way you don't have to serve any breakfast foods or get up at the butt crack of dawn to get ready. It's y'alls day so do what you want.
  • Sure! My wedding is 11am on a Friday. Pretty unconventional. We are just serving some sandwiches and little finger foods because we getting married in a park.

I think a morning beach wedding would be nice!

</div><div>Oh the light is better on the beach in the morning than any other time of day except maybe the magic hour between dusk and dark.</div>

  • The most important thing is that you do what you and your FI want and not because of what anyone else thinks.  If you want morning, do morning, if you'd prefer evening do that.  This will be your shared day so with the exception of hosting your guests properly the timing is up to you.  You'll never please everyone so please yourselves.
  • My aunt had a brunch wedding and it was great! They had an omelet station and tons of breakfast food and fruit. The beauty of it is you can have lunch foods too. She had a ham and stuff like that too.
