sort of WR: home printer??

Ladies who are doing some of their printing and wedding-related crafts at home: I need to buy a printer and I don't know where to start in terms of shopping. Needed for wedding-related tasks such as printing envelopes, programs, etc. Needs to print in color, easy-feed for weird paper sizes, good ink economy, and new cartridges can't be ridiculously expensive. Can anyone out there make any recommendations?

Unfortunately FI and I don' have a computer in our apartment, but I like my parents printer.  It's huge- has copying and faxing and probably intergalactic communcation abilities.  But I know it's pretty efficient on ink and can print all sorts of size papers and envelopes.  I printed photos on it for my MOH's bridal shower album.  I'll be visiting their house this weekend and snoop for the make and model number.  I'll put a reminder in my phone to check it out :-)

I'm not sure, I was just going to use what I had, which is a Samsung printer.

Until I saw the bit about printing in color, I was going to suggest investing in a laser printer, over an inkjet. They print faster, comes out completely dry, and unless the toner is going, are less likely to smude. But they are expensive, especially for printing in color. and refill toner is ridiculously expensive.

Based on the answers I recieved from a similar post on my personal FB page, I think we're going to go with an HP all-in-one color printer with AirPrint for all of our Apple products. If I remember, I'll post something by way of review at some point after I've used it a couple times.

I love my Samsung colour laser printer! The toner is expensive, but I've had mind for almost 2 years and haven't had to replace any of the colour toners, only the black one. I do a ton for printing for work, its definitely the most economical choice for us. :-)
