I am so upset that Southwest Airlines is changing flights

Sooo, most of my wedding guests will be coming from Philadelphia to Raleigh-Durham... Once upon a time there were 4 flights a day between the 2 cities that were direct -
it went down to 2 last year i think, and now come March there will be 0 direct flights -

This is very upsetting - it was a 1 hourish flight - and fairly cheap - and I know this will now affect who can and will come to the wedding - There are no direct flights left after March 8.  Which I do not understand because they have always been fairly full - now the only way to get between the 2 for SWA is to go trhough Nashville or Atl or Chicago i think - not too bad - but it also appears that all of the flights will have crazy layovers too - not just stay on the plane and pick up more people

Just very upsetting - because it is already a lot to ask people to fly into town - but it wasn't THAT bad when the whole trip could be planned and paid for (airfare at least ) for like 120$, now it is looking very high

Posted by bluebfalo The train would take just as long as driving or flying with a crazy layover... The flight direct from Philly to rdu is an hour tops... They could have flown in morning of the wedding and not paid for an extra hotel night ... Now they HAVE to pay more to fly AND an extra hotel night... Just not happy with the whole situation.

Atleast, us airways still have nonstop flights (so atleast there's an option!)... too bad it's like 2x the cost (and probably more since there's no competitor)...

Will you have a wedding website?  Hopefully, it will sting a bit less if you can have a page on there that talks about the changes, what's available, and any tips you can give to your guests on how to save as much as possible based on what you find out.  That's pretty much all you can do and I'm sure they'll appreciate you caring so much about them to figure this stuff out.  But don't worry.  I'm sure with all the time you have it will be fine.  For what it's worth, me and FI are using our website for this type of thing cause we'll have a lot of OOTs.  Our STD magnets with our website are going out within the next month.
