Gift cards for favors?

For my engagement party favors I wanted to do giftcards. One of our favorite things to do on our date night is go to the movies so I thought i would do a little favor bag for each couple and put a giftcard in it (enough for 2 movie tickets and snacks), and on the gift tag put something like "date night". Is this an ok favor? I've never heard of anyone doing giftcards as favors so I wasn't sure!

That's cute! I'd just be sure you're choosing a national chain, and feel pretty confident that they have them where all of your guests live.

good advice, bc we do have some local only theaters, but chains as well so i will make sure to go with the chain one

I'd be very excited to receive this as long as I had a theater location near me that accepted the card
