Favors

opinions please

I just can not decide on a favor. My wedding is Oct 7th and each year the weather can be 100% different-we have had 80's and we have had a blizzard but being that we are having record temps the past couple days I am wondering if I should do fans. I want something inexpensive and not cheesy. Thoughts? Ideas? TIA

Re: opinions please

  • Since the weather will be unpredictable, I wouldn't do fans.  What if on the day of the wedding the temperature is in the low 60s -- what are people going to do with fans?

Favors are never required, so feel free to skip them.  If you want to do something, edible favors are best.
  • I'd skip the fans and do an edible favor.
  • Ditto PP I wouldn't do the fans either. Do something edible. You can go pretty cheap by buying the pretty little colorful bags with the pull string and filling them with jellybeans. I know that may seem weird but thats what my cousin did for her wedding and it was interesting. In your wedding colors, of course.

Ditto doing something edible if you want a favor. Even if it was hot, I wouldn't really consider a fan a favor. It's not something I would really use outside the wedding or even probably bring home with me. I'd much rather have something edible.

  • Agree to forget the fans.

Do you have any favorite candy or drink (like soda or something) that you both enjoy? I'm from Kentucky and we have a local soft drink that's like ginger ale - FI likes it as well, so we're using that as our favor.

  • No fans for favors.....if you really want to, you could print your programs (assuming you are having them) and add a stick to make them fans.  I would still stick with a candy, hopefully not chocolate that would melt though.

  • I vote traditional almonds, maybe yogurt pretzels or candy corns? You can get the little clear bags, ribbon and edibles for cheap. People can snack and toss the bags.
