I plan on doing the following:  welcome letter, map and schedule of events, water bottles, small bags of trail mix, some local peach candy (I'm from Georgia) and a gift packet from our local welcome center that has attractions, discount tickets and coupons for local venues.  I bought some great recycled vinyl shopping bags that are in our wedding colors to put everything in so they'll also have something to take away with them and reuse!

Our bags included a bottle of wine from a local wine shop, cheese popcorn and chocolates (homemade by a local candy store) and cookies that my grandma made. We also included maps to the rehearsal dinner and Sunday brunch. We tied the bags with a tag we made that said "Thank you for being here to celebrate our wedding with us." We got a lot of compliments on them!

We just did a bunch of our favorite snacks--granola bars, chex mix, rice krispie treats, water bottles, and we included a few pieces of our favorite chocolate (ghiardelli raspberry filled squares!)

You could include historic info/maps about Philly and maybe a souvenir trinket. If you're ever at 30th Street Station, they have TONS of flyers for things to do in the area... might give you a few ideas.

We're putting a bag together for our OOT guests of a Welcome Booklet that has a welcome note, our wedding itinerary (I've been through the - oops I forgot the invitation routine), our menu, directions to the reception, and things to do in town; a bottle of water; homemade chocolate chip cookies (I'm a Pastry Chef); we put together a CD of our favorite love songs; and some poker chips with our wedding date on them (we're in Vegas).  Have fun!

for each guest room we had a short welcome note that included directions to the venue (in case they forgot) and a couple of cab numbers, a tube of pringles, two granola bars, two bottles of water and two bags of M&M's.  we wrapped all of this in celo with a ribbon and put it in a re-usable "green" bag for the hotel to hand out to each guest.  the only thing my uncle said to me at the reception was "the bags in the rooms - nice touch!" then he winked at me and walked away.  my husbands aunt was visiting from overseas and was still using the green bag when we saw her three weeks later - i think they went over well

I am not familiar with anything local to Philly (except for the cheese steaks, of course) but I think that's the best idea - include things that give guests an idea of the area. We are planning a wedding on cape cod and we're including cape cod potato chips and salt water taffy. Some might think it's tacky to be literal to the area, but I think it's cute!
