Unless your guests are people that would use chopsticks often, I'd save my money.  I love Chinese food (had it last night, and the left-overs tonight!) but honestly, I wouldn't take "personalized" chopsticks home with me.And if personalized means your names on them, I'd have even less use for them.Frankly, I think your money can be put to better use somewhere else in your wedding.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

So I'm guessing you don't know where I could get personalized chopsticks. You didn't really answer my question and I didn't really ask for your opinion. FYI, more than half the people there will be chinese and I'm sure they'll have use for them. My fiance and I think it'll be money well spent...sorry you don't feel the same way.

I like the idea of chopsticks as favors but do they really need to be personalized? It'll probably be cheaper and easier to find if you don't personalize them, plus I think the general consensus is that people don't really want stuff with other people's monograms, names, wedding dates, etc.

Ok so we wanted to do a chinese take-out box with a fortune cookie inside with a cute saying in it and then the chopsticks on top tied with a ribbon...hope you're picturing it. We wanted to incorporate the chinese culture that way...The box will be plain and we wanted ppl to go home with something to remember our wedding by. If we don't personalize the chopsticks...how else would we achieve this where the favors are concerned? Any ideas?

I would personalize the take out boxes.

I think the chopsticks will still be a remind of your wedding even if they are not personalized. We got a wine bottle stopper from a wedding and every time I use I think about the wedding but it doesn't have their names/date on it.

We thought of personalizing the chinese take-out boxes...but then I said they're probably just going to take them home and throw them away after anyway so it would be a waste of money to personalize them

LMAO... You're right StageManager, she doesn't get to dictate what people post in response, nor do you. Honestly I thought her answer was hilarious. You made a lot of assumptions in your post. To Ashe-Monique, rather than personalizing them, could you get some really fun chopsticks in one of your wedding colors? I love chopsticks and have some really wild ones, sparkly pink, striped, etc.

Lol, u just have to laugh. I think there's been a misunderstanding. I really wasn't trying to dictate what people write.. I'm well aware that ppl can write wat they would like Stage Manager...sorry if it came across the wrong way Alisha: do you know any websites I could look on to find these chopsticks? Thanks so much Ashe

Where I live we have a gazillion varying Asian markets and little shops to get stuff like that in. Do you have any Asian markets? If you found some you liked they might be able to order you a case? Looking online, lots are expensive, but I actually found these - http://www.beautifulweddingfavors.com/chblch.html -- and I wasn't even looking for wedding favor chopsticks but I like them. This site seems to have some good options http://asianideas.com/chopsticks.html

I look at personalized chopsticks the same way I would personalized keychains. I'm not taking them or using them. I don't want to use chopsticks with someone else's name on them. I would use chopsticks with my name on them, but not someone else's. And I use chopsticks nearly everyday. I could use another pair. Do a more generic look, use the Love or Double Happiness characters instead and hang a tag with your name and date on the box, tying the box and chopsticks together. Or make a sticker (DIY it pretty cheaply or maybe VistaPrint free Address labels or stamp) for the take out box.

Every posting I read in these Knots forum seem way too uptight. I heard no offense in the girl's posting just like many of the other one's I read. Appears to be a lot of bullying and protection of the bullyers on this site, hence my lack of participation. The girl asked a simple question which unfortunately got her only one source out of 13 + responses. Wow! Seems to me like a waste of time to even ask. Feel free to bash on that fellow knotters.

Hello Ashe-Monique!  Unfortunately engraving is expensive, and that's about the right price.  I can personally vouch for <a href="http://www.thechopstickstore.com/Engraved_Chopsticks_s/1844.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.thechopstickstore.com/Engraved_Chopsticks_s/1844.htm</a> They have excellent customer service and a quick turnaround... just over a week or so, depending on how many you need.    100 pair takes about a week to get them to your doorstep.

    Have a happy wedding and marriage!   - Ben-smilin'  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />
