flowers for favors

Has anyone either been to a wedding, or looked into giving each guest a flower as a favor?

Our reception site's brouchure has a photo of a really pretty place setting with a rose on the napkin. It would not have to be a rose per say. I also read about people giving flowers with pins so guests could each have a boutonniere and feel like part of the wedding. I am very interested in this idea, and didn't know if anyone has seen/done it.

DD had a dendrobium orchid blossom on each napkin.  Because you get so many blossoms on each stem or orchids, they were not expensive.  A few people used them as boutinneres or put them in their hair, but mostly they were for decoration on the table.

Personally I gave flower seeds in (what looked like) matchbooks, my wedding theme circled around pink gerbera daisies, so I gave that type of flower.  I think they turned out great, and everyone told me it was such a cool, original idea. Little do they know I got it from Martha Stewart!! Lol here is a link to her website, and its got quite a few flower favor ideas (including live flowers, not just seeds) that might inspire you: http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/photogallery/floral-favors (make sure to flip through the whole gallery, tons of great ideas)! Good luck :)

IMO, I don't think it's a good idea. If I were to get a flower as a favor I would just leave it on the table. I think it might be a waste of money.

I wouldn't take the flower home. IMO, edible favors or no favors.

well it's a great idea, and if you want something permanent, you could dip the flowers in wax, maybe a color to match your color scheme. they last for about 10 years that way, it was one of my original ideas, but we are going with edible favors...........I have to give in sometimes right? lol
