Pen Favors

I'm planning to have advice cards on the tables, so the guests can fill them out while waiting for dinner. Instead of buying a bunch of cheap pens, I thought we could get some nicer pens, have them imprinted and use them as favors. What does everyone think of that idea? Is that too cheap for a favor? And, if we do it, does anyone have any ideas of what to imprint on them? I want to have something cute, not just our names and the date. Thanks!

I would love the pen if it doesn't have your names and wedding date on it. Maybe something like "Write your own love story" or "True love stories don't have endings" or something like that.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

[QUOTE]I don't think wedding date pens are a bad idea. We take pens from business all the time, and carry them around with us despite the fact that they have ACME AUTO SHOP on them.

<div>I thought about this, too. Of all the favor options, this would be the only one I might not hate if it had the wedding info on it, but I would still prefer it without. But I wouldn't leave it behind. </div>

  • If you're looking for favor ideas, you should check out www.goodiesforguests.com , they have cute affordable stuff for for favor boxes. I worked with them and theyre creative!

  • I like the pen idea, if they are a reasonably nice pen.  I would prefer a saying to names-and-dates, but I'd never leave a good pen behind.  Advice cards could be hit or miss ... if you want to do them, that's fine, but don't spend a lot of time/energy/money, because you're likely to get a lot of duplicates, as Retread said.

If your guest list is large enough, shop for the pens through companies that do promotionals for businesses.  You can save by buying in bulk, and may save money by going through a non-wedding vendor.
  • I'm having an enchanted forest theme and bought twig pens. It was eighty dollars for 150 of them. One side has the bark stripped off and I used a wood burner to imprint each of my guests names. It is also being used as a place card.
