Pratical favors?

I know we have all been to the weddings that you get the most impratical favor.  I want my few guests to remember (we have decreased the guest list from about 250 to 12!) So this allows us to spend a little more on the favors but i want them to be pratical that my guests will use and not sit on a shelf or in a cabinet never to be seen again.  I was thinking of doing coffe mugs and then doing a favor box with hot chocolate, coffee, and hot tea... I feel that this covers all of the "likes" of everyone, I can only think of 1 person that may not like these, but hey you can't please everyone... I also feel that the mug is something that can be used over and over.  Then he throws in, are people really going to want to use a mug that has our name and wedding date on it?  I was like what about a little saying or something simple like thanks for joining us in our special day?  Not just our names and date...

Please give me some input on this...

If you do a coffee mug, don't personalize it with anything about your wedding. Who ever said the comment about the name/date is right, no one wants it, even the "thanks for coming"

My suggestion; get some really cute coffee mugs than anyone would want in their house and then when you wrap the coffee, tea and hot chocolate have a thank you for coming tag or ribbon on that. This way you are telling your guests thank you but it can be removed from the gift. Does that make sense?

I would go a step further, and say just give the coffee/tea/chocolate without the mug.  I have a set of matching mugs at home, I don't have any use for another random mug.

Same.  Honestly, I would probably give the mug to goodwill.  I just don't have room in my house for random stuff that doesn't match anything else that I have.  I MIGHT take it to work to use for coffee or tea, since those are always getting broken or stolen anyway.

I do like the idea of the coffee/tea/hot chocolate.   That I would DEFINITELY use.
