Favors

Roses Instead of Favors

I am playing with the idea of giving out a single rose to each guest instead of traditional favors.  Does anyone think this is appropriate for the male guests too?

Also, the way I envision it, the roses would be handed out to each guest as they leave the ceremony, by a young family member.  However, the guests will then be going to a restaurant for the reception dinner, then back to the ceremony site for an after party.  If I did it this way, what would guests do with their roses during the reception?  Even though I like the thought of giving them out as they exit the ceremony, would it be better to lay them out on the reception tables instead?
Thanks for any input!

Honestly, those flowers will probably be broken or thrown away by the time these people get to the reception. I don't think women or men would enjoy this. It's not something they can really use or enjoy (unless they were super crazy over roses). Sorry, but that's my opinon. I would opt for something edible or just get rid of the favor all together. People would probably be confused as to what to do with the rose. If you have your heart set on roses, then give them out at the reception.

I thought of doing something similar as part of a little thank you for my ceremony but i didnt want to waste money on single flowers that would have died,I did some research & i came across Wooden Scented Roses in my wedding colors on ebay,I had my venue lay each one on the chairs before the wedding and most guests took them.
