Something to think about...Candy

This past weekend I went to a bridal show and there was a vendor there with a candy buffet. All the candy was white and she was encouraging you to fill a bag as a way to advertise her business. I am still deciding on whether to have the candy or not so I decided to fill a bag. The next day when I opened the bag the candy was so gross and all the candies tasted like each other because there was some strong flavors mixed in like pineapple and cocconut. This really turned me off to the idea. I will prob not be having one now and if you are I would def try to come up with candies that will be ok together or have several mini bags for the guests to separate their candy. I would hate to spend all that money on the candy all for it to be gross the next day! Just a thought that I wanted to share because I was really suprised by how fast the candy flavors spread.

That's an interesting point, but with my candy bar, everyone seemed to eat their candy while they were still at the reception, or at the after party we ended up having. I don't know of anyone who took it and left it overnight, so I wouldn't let this deter you from using a candy bar. Mine was a huge hit.

Thats a good point i guess a lot of people would eat it right away. I have just seen a lot of posts on the DIY board and other places where the brides spent a lot of time making the take home boxes and containers for them to take with them so i was thinking that they would prob eat some right away but still take a bunch with them. i def have to think about it.. thanks Smile

Hmmm, something I never thought about.  My candy buffet was a favor so people definitely took theirs home.  I made up a box for myself to take home (because I didn't want to miss my candy buffet but was too busy at the wedding!).  I ate every bit of it in one sitting and it was delicious.
