I did stalk the board first but didn't find an answer; hopefully someone with experience can help!
How much candy should I order for a candy buffet? It'll be the only favor, and the clear plastic baggies I got are standard party favor size, probably like... 9"x4"-ish? (I don't have them with me at the moment.) I was thinking probably 6-8 different kinds of candy. We'll have about 200 guests; some will take a little bit, some won't take any at all, and a few will probably take a lot. I don't want the table to look sparse and I want to provide enough for each person to take at least a little bit, but I don't want to have a ton of leftovers, and I don't want to spend a lot of money on this (like, say, not much more than $250-300 for the candy + shipping).
If I get 10 lbs of six different types of candy, that's enough for every single person to leave with a third of a pound. Does that sound like enough? If not, what would be a reasonable amount per person? Most (or maybe all) of what I'm considering is NOT individually wrapped, so I wouldn't be able to use leftovers for Halloween or anything.
Anyone with any experience estimating total poundage for a candy buffet, any suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Erica
